Job Description

Who we are.

At Bluehost, we're not just building websites-we're shaping the future of the web through content, commerce, and the power of AI. From intelligent automation to generative content and personalization at scale, we believe AI will define the next era of customer experience and business growth.

Our writers are spending a large share of their week publishing instead of writing. Blog posts go out through WordPress storefront pages go through Adobe Experience Manager - and because AEM page builds currently sit in the engineering team's backlog, a finished page can wait around two weeks before it goes live. Our organic targets do not allow for that.

This role exists to remove both problems. You will take 100% of publishing off the writers, and you will ship storefront pages in AEM yourself instead of queuing behind engineering. Your first month is spent embedded with the AEM engineering team learning the platform, the component library, and the publishing path from month two onward you are the person who gets pages live. Success is measured on two things: writers spending zero hours on publishing, and pages going live in days instead of weeks.

What you'll do & how you'll make your mark.

Own the build-and-publish stages of the page process

  • Own stages 9 through 11 of our New Page Creation Process - build/QA, publish, and post-publish QA - for both storefront and blog.

  • Own the publishing queue and calendar so no page waits on you and no writer has to chase status.

AEM storefront publishing

  • Build and publish storefront pages in AEM: assemble pages from existing components, work with Content Fragments and Experience Fragments, manage Live Copy / MSM inheritance across our regional sites, and run pages through the authoring and publish workflow.

  • Build page sections that the standard components don't cover, using the patterns the engineering team will hand you in month one - without waiting on a code release.

  • Implement pricing, CTA and analytics components correctly so plan pricing renders and every interactive element carries the right tracking attributes.

  • When something genuinely requires new engineering work, write a clear reproducible ticket and drive it to close - and keep everything else out of that queue.

Blog publishing

  • Publish blog content in WordPress via the Quattr workflow: formatting, visuals, layout, tagging, categorisation, and localisation settings.

SEO implementation at publish time

  • Execute the SEO Rec doc exactly as specified: title tags, meta descriptions, H1/H2 structure, URL slugs, internal links, alt text, canonicals, hreflang for localised pages, and schema markup.

  • Flag anything in the spec that can't be implemented as written, rather than silently deviating.

AI tooling and automation - core to this job, not a bonus

  • Use AI coding tools (Cursor, Claude Code) to build and debug page sections, work out how an unfamiliar component or stylesheet behaves, and get answers from the codebase instead of waiting on engineering availability.

  • Use AI daily for content-adjacent production work: generating and checking meta tags, alt text, schema, internal link suggestions and localisation drafts - reviewing every output before it ships.

  • Build and maintain a library of reusable prompts, rules files and templates for recurring publishing tasks, so the workflow is repeatable by anyone on the team.

  • Identify repetitive publishing steps and automate them - AI tooling, scripts, browser automation, or CMS bulk operations - and report the time saved.

  • Apply judgement about where AI output cannot be trusted and a human check is mandatory before publish.

Publishing QA

  • Run a documented pre-publish pass on every page: formatting and grammar, broken links, image rendering, mobile layout integrity, pricing components rendering, tracking attributes present, and no console errors introduced.

  • Maintain publishing standards, templates and checklists as the team's single source of truth.

Collaboration

  • Partner with the Content Marketing Managers on the calendar and priorities give clear ETAs and surface blockers early.

  • Work with the AEM engineering and storefront teams to keep your publishing access and workflow healthy.

  • Coordinate with design when assets are needed, and manage those requests through to close.

Who you are & what you'll need to succeed.

  • 3-5 years in web publishing, digital production, web content management or content operations on a high-volume site.

  • Strong front-end fundamentals: HTML, CSS and vanilla JavaScript. You can open DevTools, work out why a style isn't applying, and fix layout inside an existing design system you didn't build. No framework experience required.

  • Hands-on experience publishing in an enterprise CMS. Adobe Experience Manager is strongly preferred if you haven't used AEM, show us you've picked up a complex proprietary CMS or codebase fast before - AI coding tools make that ramp far shorter than it used to be, and we will give you those tools.

  • Strong WordPress skills: block editor, media handling, taxonomy, common SEO plugins.

  • Practical on-page SEO execution: meta tags, heading hierarchy, internal linking, canonicals, hreflang, schema markup.

  • Demonstrated daily use of AI in a real production workflow - both assistants (ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini) and ideally AI coding tools (Cursor, Claude Code, Copilot) - with specific examples of what you built or automated and what it saved.

  • Exceptional attention to detail. You are the last checkpoint before content is public.

  • Able to work independently across time zones with minimal supervision, and comfortable asking engineering the right question rather than guessing.

Nice to Have

  • Adobe Experience Manager Sites certification.

  • Scripting ability (Python or JavaScript) for bulk content operations or CMS API work.

  • Experience building AI-assisted workflows with APIs, agents or automation platforms.

  • Localisation experience across multiple regional sites.

  • Familiarity with Quattr, Adobe Analytics or Looker.

  • Web hosting, SaaS or another technical product category.
