Are you a Full Stack Engineer ready to move beyond isolated ticket work and become a technical quality multiplier for an AI-native product team — owning architecture, mentoring engineers, and shipping autonomous recruiting workflows end to end

Kula is an AI-native recruiting platform covering sourcing, screening, scheduling, outreach, and interview workflows — a compact product-led team of 32 people with engineering in Chennai and leadership across Singapore and India. We are on a strong growth trajectory building the next generation of agentic AI recruiting workflows.

This is an IC role where you stay close to production code while improving architecture, system design, and engineering quality across a lean junior-heavy team — not a people management role, a technical leadership and ownership role.

Candidates from Freshworks, Zoho, Chargebee, Razorpay, Postman, BrowserStack, Leapfrog, or similar product-led technology companies with strong full stack and AI engineering backgrounds are strongly encouraged to apply.

What You'll Do

• Work as a hands-on full-stack engineer and tech lead IC — staying close to production code while improving architecture, system design, reviews, and engineering quality
• Build end-to-end product workflows across React frontend and backend services in Go, Ruby on Rails, or Python — with strong judgment on APIs, data flow, reliability, and maintainability
• Mentor a junior-heavy engineering team through code reviews, design discussions, debugging practices, and clear technical standards without shifting into a people-management role
• Use AI-assisted development tools including Codex, Claude Code, and similar workflows to move quickly while reviewing, testing, and hardening generated code properly
• Help Kula ship AI-native recruiting workflows including agentic or autonomous product experiences, orchestration, evaluation, monitoring, and production reliability

What We're Looking For

• 6–10 years of product engineering experience with recent hands-on full-stack work, strong coding fundamentals, and clear system design or architecture ownership
• Strong React experience plus backend depth in at least one of Go, Ruby/Rails, or Python — with willingness to operate across a mixed stack
• Product-minded builder who can make good small product decisions without depending on PM or design for every detail
• Has raised engineering quality through code reviews, mentoring, architecture discussions, and delivery discipline while remaining an individual contributor
• Comfortable with AI-assisted coding — production agentic AI, autonomous workflow, agent lifecycle, evaluation, monitoring, or reliability experience is a strong plus
• Chennai or Tamil Nadu preferred — Kerala is a strong secondary pool — Bangalore or Hyderabad candidates open to Chennai travel are welcome
• Lead Full Stack Engineer, Full Stack Engineer, Tech Lead, Software Engineer, Full Stack Developer, or Staff Engineer with equivalent experience are welcome to apply
