Job Summary
Synechron is seeking a proficient Data Engineer to support the design, development, and maintenance of scalable, efficient data pipelines and enterprise data solutions. The role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, implement data management strategies, and ensure data quality, security, and availability. The Data Engineer will leverage experience in cloud platforms, big data tools, and modern development practices to enable data-driven decision-making and operational excellence across the organization.
Principal Accountabilities and Responsibilities:
Key Responsibilities
• Develop automated reports & complex workflows / processes using tools like Alteryx, SQL, Python.
• Understand reporting requirements from business stakeholders and convert these into technical requirements to build regulatory reports from business requirements.
• Validate data sources and ensure reports comply with governance and data quality standards.
• Work with IT / data engineers to enhance datasets, semantic layers, and data assets for reporting.
• Perform data analysis, trend identification, and insights generation for business units.
• Maintain report documentation, data definitions, and metadata related to reporting assets.
• Troubleshoot reporting issues, resolve data discrepancies, and maintain high report reliability.
• Support ad-hoc data extraction and analysis using SQL/Excel/Python as needed.
Functional Knowledge
Bachelor's degree in engineering, Computer Science, Statistics, or related fields.
• 2–6 years of experience in BI reporting, analytics, or data visualization roles.
• Strong proficiency in SQL, Alteryx, SAS, Python and data modeling concepts.
• Ability to take business requirements and re-write these into technical requirements.
• Understanding of governance concepts like certified datasets, metadata, and KPI standardization.
• Experience with key data warehouses (Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery, Azure Synapse).
• Solid analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder-management skill
• Knowledge of ETL/ELT concepts, semantic models, and data pipelines.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies and Jira/Confluence documentation.
• Industry certifications in BI tools or cloud platforms.
