We are seeking a skilled Medical Coder specializing in Surgery and IPDRG to join our team in India. The ideal candidate will be responsible for accurately coding surgical procedures and ensuring compliance with coding standards. This role is essential for maintaining the integrity of our medical billing and documentation processes.

Responsibilities

• Review and analyze medical records and documentation to extract relevant information for coding.
• Assign appropriate surgical procedure codes based on the International Classification of Diseases (ICD) and Current Procedural Terminology (CPT) guidelines.
• Ensure accurate coding for inpatient cases as per the Inpatient Prospective Payment System Diagnosis Related Groups (IPDRG).
• Maintain compliance with federal and state regulations and guidelines for medical coding.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals to clarify any discrepancies in documentation.
• Participate in coding audits and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
• Stay updated with the latest coding standards and changes in regulations.

Skills and Qualifications

• 2-7 years of experience in medical coding, specifically in surgical coding and IPDRG.
• Proficient in ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding systems.
• Strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and surgical procedures.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to work independently.
• Certification in medical coding (CPC, CCS, or equivalent) is preferred.
• Good communication skills for effective collaboration with clinical staff.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
