Key Responsibilities
Identify discrepancies between test reports and actual application quality
Review test artifacts, defect logs, dashboards, and status reports for accuracy
Detect hidden risks, deferred critical defects, and coverage gaps
Perform independent exploratory and risk-based testing
Challenge unrealistic green project statuses with data-backed evidence
Escalate quality risks clearly and professionally to stakeholders
Collaborate with QA, development, and project management teams to improve
transparency
Recommend improvements to testing processes, metrics, and reporting standards
Act as a quality advocate, ensuring issues are visible before production release
Required Skills & Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in computer science, IT, or related field
3–8 years of experience in Software Testing / QA
Strong Understanding Of
- SDLC & STLC
- Defect lifecycle and severity classification
- Manual and/or automation testing
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Strong communication skills with the ability to deliver bad news constructively
Experience with test management and defect tracking tools (e.g., Jira, TestRail, ALM)
Preferred Skills
Experience in risk-based testing
Exposure to Agile / Scrum environments
Ability to interpret KPIs and QA metrics critically
Knowledge of production support or release management
