Water Supply Designer creates plans for efficient water systems, from source to tap, designing pipelines, pumps, and treatment facilities for homes, industries, or cities, ensuring compliance with codes, using hydraulic software, and collaborating with teams on technical reports, cost estimates, and construction oversight for reliable water delivery. Key tasks include site analysis, modeling, creating detailed drawings (P&IDs), managing budgets, and ensuring sustainability for projects like Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) or general infrastructure.
Key ResponsibilitiesDesign & Modeling: Develop hydraulic/hydrologic models (HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS) for pipe sizing, pressure zones, and network layouts; design treatment plants, pumping stations, reservoirs, and distribution networks.Documentation: Prepare detailed designs, Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), technical reports, specifications, cost estimates, and bills of quantities.Compliance: Ensure designs meet local/national building codes, regulations, and environmental standards.Project Management: Conduct feasibility studies, manage project progress, budgets, and deadlines, and coordinate with stakeholders (clients, engineers, contractors).Construction Support: Provide site support, oversee construction quality, and supervise contractors. Essential Skills & QualificationsTechnical: Proficiency with design software, hydraulics, water treatment, plumbing, and pumps.Analytical: Strong logical and analytical thinking for problem-solving.Communication: Excellent written and verbal skills for reports and presentations.Education: Bachelor's degree in Civil, Mechanical, or Environmental Engineering.Attributes: Self-motivated, team-oriented, organized, and ability to multitask.
