Warehousing & Distribution Centers Design

A. Organisation Summary

Our Consulting specializes in designing Logistics Parks, Warehouses, Distribution & Fulfillment

Centers to optimize capacities, Smoothen Processes and enhance operating efficiencies. Our

Consulting re-configures the existing buildings and operating warehouses from a functional

standpoint, for improving throughputs, reducing TATs, increasing productivity and effectiveness which

enables the warehouse managers to do more with less resources. The Augmentation intervention

includes storage system mix, material handling solutions, automation concepts and physical

integration to the technology applications. Our Consulting also assist the 3PL clients to formulate a

complete response (Design and Costing) to the RFQs and RFPs. Other services include tendering and

sourcing assistance for the Warehouse Building infrastructure and all Fit-outs.

B. Key Achievements

Creating world class warehousing infrastructure since 2005 all over India, Middle East and Africa

 Designed leading large format logistics parks across sates housing the DC/FCs of leading brands

like Amazon, Flipkart, Firstcry, All Cargo, Logos, Assetz, JRS, etc.

 Designed successful distribution and fulfilment centres for popular brands across industry

categories.

 Designed the first 3PL integrated Distribution Park with multiple temperature facilities in Panvel.

 Designed the first temperature controlled Pharmaceutical Distribution Warehouse in Mumbai

with Cold Storage, Air-conditioned and Ambient store facility.

 Designed the Intra – Warehouse concept and layout for Large Appliances division of Flipkart India

II. Company Services

A. Position Summary

The applicant will be responsible for formulating and applying data analysis skills and other optimizing

methods to interpret information that assists in developing scenarios and logic to quantify static and

dynamic values for storage and throughputs respectively, which will lead to the basis of designing

and developing warehouse process flows and layout. The incumbent will also be responsible for

maintaining client relations and independent customer interactions during the course of a/the

project(s).

The applicant should have a thorough knowledge of warehousing and transport operations, physical

and system processes, resources, fit-outs and Infrastructure.

The Key responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

Visiting, discussing and understanding client requirements and/ or problem statements.

Preparing Work Scope Document and Commercial Offer Letter.

Pre-Design site study and audit of the existing facility and as-is process and systems.

Formulating Data Collection Templates to form the basis of data analysis and design.

Mapping As-Is and To-Be process

Analysing Inventory and Throughput Data through Statistical Modelling to determine and

establish the characteristics, specifications and quantities of various Design Elements,

Infrastructure, Human and other Resources.

Developing and Designing Warehousing Process, Intra-Warehouse and Infrastructure Solutions to

optimize capacities and resource modeling to improve efficiency.

Communicate the requirements & specifications to the Project Designer; discuss and guide them

to develop a detailed and to-scale Auto CAD drawings (Plan, Elevations and Sections) with

specifications.

Coordinating with Vendors during Supply and Installation of Equipment, Functional Compliance

and Commissioning.

Preparing and Monitoring Project Schedule.

Writing SOPs.

To prepare a detailed report and presentation of the requirement, challenges, design approach,

design considerations, quantities assessed, process flow charts, decision and evaluation matrix,

and the design as a whole.

Formulating RFQ response for the 3PL clients – Data Analysis, Resource [Equipment & Manpower]

Calculation, & Costing.

Preparing Case Studies for the Projects Handled.

Site visits and vendor management during the implementation phase.

Inspection and commissioning certification.

Client Servicing and Support.

B. Other Responsibilities:

Interacting with Prospective Clients, Communicating and Explaining the Services and their

C. Performance Measurement:

The applicant's performance will be measured on the Delivery of responsibilities mentioned above.

D. Skills Required:

a. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

b. Data Analysis, visualization and presentation - The incumbent should be skilled in Microsoft

Excel – Analytics, statistical analysis, representation, MS Word and MS PowerPoint.

c. Basic editing / use of AutoCAD

d. Creative and ability to perceive designs.

e. Pleasant and positive personality. Willingness to learn

f. Planning, scheduling and time management skills.

g. The incumbent should have in-depth knowledge of
