Role Description

The Book to ePub Conversion Executive will be responsible for converting legal and academic publications into high-quality ePub formats for digital distribution. The role involves content formatting, validation, quality assurance, and ensuring compatibility across various e-reading devices and platforms while maintaining EBC's high editorial and publishing standards.

Position:Digital Publishing Executive (HTML/CSS/XML)

Employment Type: Full-time, On-site.

Location: Lucknow

Key Responsibilities

• Convert books, journals, manuals, and other publications from source files (Word, PDF, InDesign, XML, etc.) into ePub formats.
• Structure and format content in accordance with ePub standards and publishing guidelines.
• Create and maintain navigation elements, including Table of Contents, bookmarks, hyperlinks, and cross-references.
• Ensure proper rendering of legal citations, footnotes, tables, images, and special characters.
• Validate ePub files using industry-standard tools and resolve formatting or compatibility issues.
• Conduct thorough quality checks to ensure accuracy and consistency of digital publications.
• Coordinate with editorial, production, and technology teams to address conversion-related queries.
• Maintain project records, version control, and workflow documentation.
• Ensure timely completion of assigned projects while adhering to quality standards.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in any discipline.
• Experience in eBook conversion, digital publishing, or content production is preferred.
• Basic understanding of HTML, CSS, XML, and ePub standards.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office and digital publishing tools.
• Knowledge of legal or academic publishing will be an advantage.

• Knowledge of ePub 2/ePub 3 standards and digital publishing workflows.
• Ability to identify and resolve formatting and conversion issues.
• Good organizational and time-management skills.
• Effective communication and teamwork abilities.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with tools such as Adobe InDesign, Calibre, Oxygen XML Editor, or similar applications.
• Understanding of accessibility requirements for eBooks.
• Familiarity with legal publishing content, citations, and document structures.
