Role Overview:

Securseed is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Vulnerability Management Consultant to join our dynamic cybersecurity team. In this role, you will be responsible for leveraging your deep understanding of vulnerability management principles and your hands-on expertise with Tenable Nessus to identify, analyze, and report on security vulnerabilities within our clients or our own IT infrastructure. You will play a crucial role in developing and implementing effective remediation strategies and improving the overall security posture. The ideal candidate will be a proactive problem-solver with excellent communication skills and a passion for cybersecurity.

Responsibilities:

Vulnerability Scanning and Assessment: Conduct regular vulnerability scans using Tenable Nessus across a diverse range of systems, including servers, workstations, network devices, and applications. Configure and optimize Nessus scan policies to ensure comprehensive and efficient vulnerability detection.

Vulnerability Analysis and Prioritization: Analyze scan results to identify and validate vulnerabilities. Assess the potential impact and risk associated with identified vulnerabilities based on severity scores (e.g., CVSS), exploitability, and asset criticality. Prioritize remediation efforts based on risk assessment.

Reporting and Documentation: Generate clear, concise, and actionable vulnerability assessment reports for technical and non-technical audiences. Document findings, methodologies, and recommendations. Maintain accurate records of scanning activities and remediation progress.

Remediation Guidance and Support: Collaborate with IT teams and stakeholders to provide guidance and support on vulnerability remediation strategies. Track and monitor the progress of remediation efforts and escalate critical issues as needed.

Policy and Procedure Development: Contribute to the development and maintenance of vulnerability management policies, procedures, and standards. Ensure adherence to industry best practices and compliance requirements.

Tool Management and Optimization: Manage and maintain the Tenable Nessus environment, including software updates, plugin management, user access control, and integration with other security tools. Identify opportunities to optimize the use of Nessus for improved efficiency and effectiveness.

Security Awareness and Training: Participate in security awareness programs by providing insights on common vulnerabilities and best practices for secure system configuration and maintenance.

Continuous Learning: Stay up-to-date with the latest security threats, vulnerabilities, and trends in vulnerability management and security technologies. Continuously enhance your knowledge and skills related to Tenable Nessus and other relevant tools.

Client Interaction (for consulting roles): Effectively communicate with clients to understand their security requirements, present findings, and provide expert advice on vulnerability management best practices. Build and maintain strong client relationships.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).

Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in a vulnerability management role.

Extensive experience with Tenable Nessus for vulnerability scanning and assessment.

Strong understanding of common security vulnerabilities (e.g., OWASP Top 10, SANS Top 25), attack vectors, and remediation techniques.

Familiarity with vulnerability scoring systems such as CVSS (Common Vulnerability Scoring System).

Experience with analyzing vulnerability scan results and prioritizing remediation efforts based on risk.

Excellent report writing and communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information clearly and concisely to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Proficiency in English (additional languages are a plus).

Preferred Qualifications:

Relevant security certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CEH, or vendor-specific certifications (e.g., Tenable Certified Nessus Auditor).

Experience with other vulnerability management tools beyond Tenable Nessus (e.g., Qualys, Rapid7).

Familiarity with security frameworks and compliance standards (e.g., ISO 27001, SOC 2, PCI DSS).

Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) for automation tasks.

Knowledge of cloud security concepts and vulnerability management in cloud environments (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).

Skills:
