Job Description

Vulnerability Management Analyst (AI Training)

About The Role

We're partnering with the world's leading AI research labs to build smarter, more capable AI systems — and we need practitioners who know what real security work actually looks like.

If you've spent time in vulnerability management, security operations, or infrastructure security, this is a rare opportunity to apply that expertise in a new and impactful way. You'll work with realistic security scenarios, CVE data, and remediation workflows to help evaluate and improve how AI understands and reasons about cybersecurity.

  • Organization: Alignerr
  • Type: Hourly Contract
  • Location: Remote
  • Commitment: 10–40 hours/week

What You'll Do

  • Analyze vulnerability reports, CVEs, and exposure scenarios across infrastructure and application environments
  • Classify severity, exploitability, business impact, and appropriate remediation strategies
  • Review and evaluate patching, mitigation, and risk prioritization decision-making scenarios
  • Generate, label, and validate realistic security-reasoning data used to train and benchmark AI systems
  • Apply your real-world judgment to distinguish between theoretical risk and what actually matters in production

Who You Are

  • 2+ years of hands-on experience in vulnerability management, security operations, or infrastructure security
  • Solid familiarity with CVEs, vulnerability scanners, patching workflows, and risk prioritization frameworks (e.g., CVSS, EPSS, SSVC)
  • Able to think clearly about tradeoffs between theoretical severity and operational risk
  • Structured, analytical communicator who can explain security reasoning clearly in writing
  • Self-directed and comfortable working asynchronously on task-based assignments

Nice to Have

  • Experience with tools like Tenable, Qualys, Rapid7, or similar platforms
  • Familiarity with cloud or containerized infrastructure security
  • Background in threat intelligence, red teaming, or security engineering
  • Prior exposure to AI evaluation or data annotation workflows

Why Join Us

  • Work directly on frontier AI systems alongside top research labs
  • Fully remote and flexible — work on your own schedule
  • Freelance perks: autonomy, variety, and global collaboration
  • Make a meaningful impact on how AI understands real-world cybersecurity
  • Potential for ongoing work and contract extension
