VSAT NOC Engineer L1
Location: Ahmedabad
Experience: Minimum 2+ Years
Qualification: BE / Diploma in Electronics / Telecommunications / Communication
Working Schedule: Shift-based (as per roster), 6-day work week
Job Purpose
The VSAT NOC Engineer is responsible for the design, implementation, monitoring, and maintenance of VSAT networks, RF equipment, and antenna systems. The role includes teleport operations, network performance management, and coordination with satellite service providers and field teams.
Key Responsibilities
Teleport & RF Operations
- Manage VSAT hubs, RF equipment, and teleport infrastructure to ensure high service availability.
- Conduct link budgets, capacity planning, performance monitoring, and system reporting.
- Perform cross-pol isolation tests, spectrum analysis, and RF chain validation.
- Troubleshoot and recover services in case of RF system faults or outages.
Network Design & Implementation
- Design and implement satellite communication networks (TDMA, SCPC, MxDMA).
- Support complex VSAT installations and provide guidance to field engineers.
- Prepare site design and documentation for new deployments and network expansions.
- Ensure proper configuration standards and change management controls.
Coordination & Collaboration
- Liaise with satellite operators, sales teams, and product management stakeholders.
- Act as lead engineer for customer projects requiring strong RF expertise.
- Work closely with NOC team to manage alarms, incidents, and performance monitors.
- Maintain clear communication with both technical staff and management.
Monitoring & Reporting
- Maintain accurate incident logs, activation records, and network documentation.
- Generate reports on spectrum utilization, network capacity, and operational status.
- Ensure operational and installation processes are up to date and compliant.

- Satellite Earth Station Technologies
- TDMA / SCPC / MxDMA Network Management
- Baseband Systems (Modems, Multiplexers, Broadband, IP)
- RF/IF Troubleshooting and Performance Analysis
- Test Instruments: Spectrum Analyzer, Power Meter, Frequency Counter, Oscilloscope, Digital Multimeter, BER Tester
- Strong Analytical & Problem-Solving Ability
- Excellent Written and Verbal Communication Skills
- Ability to Work Under Pressure and in Shift Operations
- Willingness to Travel Pan India
