Bright is a profitable, India-built, U.S.-market Consumer FinTech, with revenue trajectory to $100M in the coming 6 months. The business model combines subscription revenue with a financial service marketplace revenues, for loans, credit cards, and credit building tools.
Bright has launched an AI money assistant and AI agentic UX flows for access to credit. It will be the first AI-driven Consumer FinTech for middle-income consumers.
The Bright product suite has potential for global markets beyond the US. The market size is 100M global middle-income consumers, with a revenue pool opportunity of $15B.

Bright was founded in 2019 by a founding team from McKinsey's Banking Practice (Petko Plachkov and Avi Patchava) and InMobi Data Scientists (Varun Modi and Avi Patchava). The core team is ex-InMobi Engineering and Data Sciences, recently joined by senior leaders from McKinsey. Bright is a data-driven, fast-paced execution culture that will build a Global Consumer FinTech, all functions operating from India.
What is the team & role:
The VP-Finance at Bright Money will play a senior role in owning the company's Finance Function and Strategic Financial Planning, with a path towards a SVP / CFO role. The VP-Finance will have ownership of Accounting, FP&A, Investor Relations and Fundraising function (Debt and Equity). The VP will work directly with the CEO and the Executive team to ensure the Finance function is suitable for a $200M revenue company, with effective fundraising capabilities.
What will you do
Accounting:
- Own the full accounting function, including financial close, consolidation, statutory reporting, and audit, ensuring accuracy and timeliness across all entities.
- Establish and enforce robust accounting policies, internal controls, and compliance with applicable standards (US GAAP / Ind AS) and regulatory requirements.
- Manage tax planning, filings, and transfer pricing across US and India operations.
- Lead automation of accounting workflows and ERP systems to improve close cycles and data integrity.
FP&A:
- Own the company's budgeting, forecasting, and long-range financial planning processes in partnership with the CEO and executive team.
- Build and maintain financial models, unit economics, and cohort-level P&L to drive data-informed decision making.
- Deliver timely management reporting, variance analysis, and KPI dashboards to leadership and the board.
- Partner with business and product teams to translate strategic goals into financial plans and track performance against them.
Investor Relations:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for existing investors, managing reporting, updates, and ongoing communication.
- Prepare board materials, investor decks, and quarterly performance reviews to a high standard of clarity and accuracy.
- Manage the cap table, investor data room, and compliance with investor reporting obligations.
- Build and maintain relationships with prospective investors to support future rounds.
Fund-raising (Debt and Equity):
- Lead end-to-end execution of debt facilities, including structuring, negotiation, lender relationships, and covenant management.
- Drive equity fundraising processes, including preparation of materials, financial diligence, and term-sheet negotiation.
- Build and maintain financial models and scenario analyses to support fundraising and capital planning.
- Optimize the company's capital structure and manage relationships with banks, debt funds, and equity investors.
Ideal candidate profile will be:
Experience & Background:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, or related field (MBA preferred), or a CA qualification.
- Minimum of 14 years of experience in finance roles, preferably in the fintech or financial services industry.
- Proven track record of managing a finance function in a growing company.
- Strong leadership experience in fast-paced, high-growth technology startups; fintech experience is a big plus.
- Strong understanding of financial management, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
- Ideal candidate is ex-financial services / Investment Banking or from a growth-stage tech company ($25M–$100M revenue).
