Purpose Of The Role
- The UK RFB/WPB Risk & Compliance VP Business Manager provides WPB and UK RFB Risk & Compliance CoS with dedicated, forward thinking financial and operational management support. The role holder takes a leading role in ensuring the smooth running of the function through proactive management and oversight of all aspects of the budget and direct cost management. The individual will be required to share best practice globally, influence stakeholder teams in a positive manner, and manage a regional team.
In This Role, You Will
- Financial Management management of the UK RFB & WPB Risk & Compliance budget:
- Oversight of the UK & WPB Risk & Compliance budget
- Development of FRP and tracking actuals
- Anaplan knowledge to maintain Forecast through regular updates from golden source data.
- Forecasting via Anaplan to identify challenges in meeting targets incl. headwind reporting
- Manage a robust financial plan to enable effective delivery of Risk & Compliance services
- Review and escalation of out of plan needs ($ and FTE)
- Management and tracking of consultancy approvals and spend
- Work closely with Global R&C to ensure delivery of benefits and ongoing tracking
- Management and tracking of all internal third party activity and spend eg indirect recharges
- Work closely with Entity and LoB to ensure they have transparency on the services and costs associated with the function
- Handling complex operational demands and develop sustained processes to strengthen financial & resource management and supporting reporting capabilities
- Own the third party management budget for UK RFB & WPB Risk and Compliance incl vendor management and oversight
To Be Successful You Will
- Considerable experience of financial and business planning and management within an international banking environment or within HSBC
- Good understanding of external banking environment regulatory, political and competitive
- Detailed understanding of the HSBC Group Operating Model across all Global Businesses
- Strong awareness and understanding of HSBCs internal control and operational risk environment
- Excellent understanding of the purpose, values, culture and fundamental framework of Compliance, as well as the broader HSBC organisation.
Experience
- Demonstrated results in delivering success and results in terms of budgetary management, resource management, financial planning and executive reporting.
- Demonstrated results in delivering performance improvement, successfully applying innovative thinking.
- Demonstrated experience in managing customer and stakeholder issues in a matrix organizational context
- Global project management experience.
- Experience of line management and management of shared services resources in a similar matrix environment
