Job Description
A Vice President (VP) of Airfreight directs the global or regional air cargo strategy, P&L management, and operational network performance for a logistics or aviation company.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Planning:
- Develop 3-to-5-year airfreight strategies covering digital transformation, route optimization, and sustainability initiatives.
- Network & Capacity Management: Design scalable regional networks, manage block-space agreements, and secure long-term airline partnerships.
- Commercial Leadership: Oversee pricing structures, profit margins, and high-value customer accounts in collaboration with sales.
- P&L & Financial Accountability: Own overall revenue targets, cost reduction, and budget performance for the air cargo division.
- Regulatory & Industry Compliance: Ensure adherence to international aviation rules (IATA, customs regulations) and safety standards.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Experience: 10 to 15+ years of progressive leadership in airfreight forwarding, airline cargo, or supply chain management.
- Commercial Acumen: Demonstrated profit and loss (P&L) ownership and large-scale contract negotiation skills.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business, or a related field (Master's preferred).
- Skills: Advanced cross-functional leadership, market analytics comprehension, and stakeholder management.
