Job Title: Vocal Music Facilitator (Western / Indian Vocals)

Job Summary
The
Vocal Music Facilitator is responsible for teaching vocal music to students across various grade levels, developing their singing abilities, musical knowledge, and stage confidence. The facilitator will train students in vocal techniques, music theory, and performance while supporting school music programs and cultural events.
Key Responsibilities
Teaching & Learning
- Teach vocal music (Western and/or Indian Classical/Contemporary) to students of different age groups.
- Develop structured lesson plans suitable for beginner to advanced learners.
- Train students in voice modulation, pitch control, breathing techniques, and vocal exercises.
- Introduce students to basic music theory, rhythm, and notation.
- Encourage expression, creativity, and confidence in singing.
Student Development
- Prepare students for school assemblies, competitions, concerts, and cultural programs.
- Train students for solo and group singing performances such as choir or ensemble singing.
- Provide individual feedback to improve vocal quality and stage presence.
- Encourage consistent practice and performance readiness.
Curriculum & Planning
- Design age-appropriate vocal music learning modules.
- Select suitable songs and compositions based on students skill levels.
- Maintain records of student progress and achievements.
- Collaborate with other performing arts teachers for integrated performances.
Performance & Event Support
- Support school events such as annual day, assemblies, and celebrations.
- Organize choir practices and vocal group rehearsals.
- Prepare students for live stage performances and competitions.
Professional Responsibilities
- Maintain discipline and ensure a safe learning environment.
- Participate in staff meetings and school programs.
- Stay updated with modern vocal training techniques and musical trends.
- Follow school policies and maintain professional conduct.
Qualifications
- Diploma or Certification in Vocal Music / Music (Preferred).
- Bachelor's Degree in Music or Performing Arts (Preferred).
- Minimum 1–3 years of experience teaching vocal music in schools or music academies.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong proficiency in singing and vocal techniques.
- Knowledge of music theory, rhythm, and vocal training methods.
- Ability to train students in solo and group singing.
- Good communication and classroom management skills.
- Ability to prepare students for performances and competitions.
- Passion for music education and student development.
Preferred Experience
- Experience handling school choirs.
- Ability to teach Western Vocal and/or Indian Classical (Carnatic/Hindustani) music.
- Experience preparing students for competitions, concerts, and cultural events.
