Job Description

  • Configure and optimize NSX components, including logical switches, routers, firewalls, and load balancers.
  • Resolve complex issues related to network virtualization, including performance, connectivity, and security problems.
  • Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence of issues.
  • Monitor and manage the NSX environment to ensure optimal performance and availability.
  • Implement and manage policies for network segmentation, micro segmentation, and traffic management.
  • Design and implement robust security measures within the NSX environment, including firewall rules, VPNs, and IDS/IPS configurations.
  • Conduct regular security assessments and audits to ensure compliance with security policies and industry regulations.
  • Lead the design and architecture of advanced network virtualization solutions using VMware NSX.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for network virtualization architectures, including diagrams and configurations.
  • Oversee the deployment of NSX environments, ensuring they meet business requirements and industry best practices.

Skills & Experiences

  • Experience in network engineering with a focus on network virtualization using VMware NSX. Prior experience in a senior or lead role is highly desirable.
  • In depth knowledge of VMware NSX and related technologies.
  • Extensive experience with network virtualization concepts and technologies, including VXLAN, DFW, and NSXT Data Center.
  • Relevant certifications such as VMware Certified Professional Network Virtualization (VCPNV), VMware Certified Advanced Professional Network Virtualization (VCAPNV), or VMware Certified Design Expert Network Virtualization (VCDXNV).
  • Strong knowledge of network security principles and best practices within virtualized environments.
  • Experience implementing and managing firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, and other security technologies in NSX environments.
  • Strong Knowledge in VMware NSX and related products (e.g., vSphere, vCenter).
  • Knowledge Network management and monitoring tools (e.g., VMware vRealize Network Insight, SolarWinds,).

Key Responsibilities

  • **Deployment and Configuration: **
  • Install, configure, and maintain VMware NSX and Dell EMC VxRail clusters.
  • Design and implement network virtualization solutions using NSX.
  • Integrate VxRail with existing infrastructure and other VMware products.
  • **Management and Monitoring:**
  • Monitor and manage NSX and VxRail environments to ensure high availability and performance.
  • Perform regular system audits and generate performance reports.
  • Implement and maintain backup and disaster recovery solutions.
  • **Troubleshooting and Support:**
  • Diagnose and resolve issues related to NSX and VxRail deployments.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to other IT staff and end-users.
  • Work with VMware and Dell EMC support for complex issue resolution.
  • **Security and Compliance:**
  • Ensure the security of the virtualized environment by implementing best practices and security policies.
  • Conduct regular security assessments and vulnerability management.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant standards and regulations.
  • **Documentation and Training:**
  • Create and maintain detailed documentation for configurations, processes, and procedures.
  • Train IT staff and end-users on the usage and best practices of NSX and VxRail technologies.
  • Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies through continuous learning.
