VMC Programmer – Automotive / Manufacturing Industry

Location: Chennai / Sriperumbudur

Experience: 4–6 years

CTC: Up to 5 LPA

Industry: Automotive / EV Components / Precision Manufacturing

Role:

Handle VMC programming, machine setup and precision machining of components as per engineering drawings, quality standards and production requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

Create, edit and optimize VMC/CNC programs for machining components.
Set up and operate VMC machines for precision machining.
Read and interpret engineering drawings, dimensions, tolerances and GD&T.
Select appropriate cutting tools, fixtures and machining parameters.
Set and maintain work offsets, tool offsets and tool length compensation.
Conduct program prove-out, dry runs and necessary program corrections.
Optimize machining parameters, tool life, cycle time and productivity.
Identify and troubleshoot machining, dimensional and programming issues.
Support new component development, prototype and production machining.
Coordinate with Production, Quality and Engineering teams for process improvement.
Monitor tool wear and make necessary tool/program adjustments.
Ensure components meet required dimensional and quality specifications.
Maintain machining programs, process records and follow safety/5S standards.

Required:

4–6 years of relevant VMC programming and machining experience.
Strong hands-on experience in VMC/CNC programming and setup.
Good knowledge of engineering drawings and GD&T.
Knowledge of cutting tools, machining parameters, work offsets and tool offsets.
Experience in milling, drilling, tapping, boring and contour machining.
Ability to troubleshoot machining and dimensional issues.
Knowledge of CAD/CAM software will be an added advantage.
Diploma / ITI in Mechanical / Production / Tool & Die / Machining or related discipline.
Candidates from Automotive, Auto Components, EV, Precision Engineering or CNC Machining industries preferred.
