Visual Designer- Job Description

The Kautilya School of Public Policy is seeking a Visual Designer to support the Kautilya's communications, outreach, academic, and event initiatives. The ideal candidate will possess strong visual design skills, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to create high-quality print and digital communication materials.

The role requires close collaboration with the Programs, Admissions, Communications, Faculty, and Events teams to ensure consistency in visual identity and maintain high design standards across all internal and external communications.

This is a full-time, long-term opportunity for a creative professional who is keen to contribute to a growing Kautilya committed to advancing public policy education, research, and practice in India.

Qualifications

●    Bachelor's degree in Design, Visual Communication, Fine Arts, or a related field.

●    1-3 years of professional experience in graphic design, preferably in an academic institution, think tank, or similar organisation.

●    Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Premiere Pro), Canva, and Microsoft PowerPoint.

●    Strong portfolio demonstrating expertise across both print and digital media.

●    Ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities

●    Design communication materials including brochures, reports, posters, presentations, invitations, publications, and other print collateral.

●    Develop branding and visual assets for conferences, guest lectures, public dialogues, workshops, and institutional events.

●    Create templates and visual resources for newsletters, academic calendars, schedules, and other internal and external communications.

●    Support faculty and programme teams in designing academic publications, student handbooks, teaching materials, and related documents.

●    Coordinate with printing vendors to oversee production, quality checks, and timely delivery of printed materials.

●    Design, schedule, and publish visual content across Kautilya's social media platforms, also updating website content to ensure it remains accurate, engaging, and aligned with the Kautilya brand.

●    Edit short-form videos (60–90 seconds) for social media, including Reels, Shorts, promotional videos, and event highlights.

●    Collaborate with the Communications, Admissions, and Programmes teams to deliver creative assets within project timelines.

●    Maintain consistency in the Kautilya's visual identity across all communication channels.
