About Creator Engine
Creator Engine is a creative post-production company building high-impact visual storytelling for global creators and brands. Our work spans YouTube originals, streaming series, broadcast, and branded campaigns - environments where design shapes narrative, not just wraps it.
We don't hire executors. We hire designers who build visual worlds.
About the Role
We're looking for a Visual Designer with the range and rigor of an Art Director. Someone whose instincts are trained, whose taste is considered, and whose output raises the bar of every project they touch.
You will define visual language, build design systems from the ground up, and see your work at scale across YouTube channels, streaming titles, brand films, and social campaigns. The scope is wide: one week you're designing a show identity and creative deck for a new streaming series, the next you're storyboarding a brand film and building thumbnail systems for a creator with millions of subscribers.
You'll be embedded in the creative process from concept through delivery, working across a global client base, primarily US, UK, and Canadian. An understanding of what resonates visually across these markets, and why, is central to doing this job well.
What You'll Do
- Design show identities, title treatments, and series creative decks that establish a distinct visual world, from early concept through presentation-ready deliverables
- Build design systems and scalable asset libraries that editorial, motion, and production teams can work from
- Create moodboards, style frames, and storyboards for campaigns and brand films
- Design thumbnails, key visuals, and campaign creatives with strong compositional intent and platform fluency
- Collaborate with editors, motion designers, and producers to ensure visual consistency from first concept to final output
- Defend creative decisions with clear, articulate reasoning, internally and with clients
- Experiment with AI and automation tools to sharpen ideation and improve throughput
What We're Looking For
- 3 to 7 years of experience in visual design, with a portfolio that shows both conceptual depth and craft precision
- Formal design education: you understand grid systems, typographic hierarchy, colour theory, and compositional principles at a structural level
- Experience creating show or series creative decks, not just individual assets. We want to see how you establish and present a visual world
- A portfolio with range: brand identity, editorial, digital and social, and motion-adjacent work. Experience in video-first formats (YouTube, streaming, broadcast) is a strong plus
- Expert-level command of Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator), Figma and other tools
- Exposure to global markets, through study, work, or sustained professional practice, with a genuine understanding of how design choices land differently across cultures, particularly in the US, UK, and Canada
- The ability to define visual language, not just respond to it. Moodboards, style frames, and system-level thinking should be a natural part of how you work
- Clear communication of design decisions: you can explain why something works, not just execute it
Who You Are
- Your design education is visible in how you work: how you approach a brief, structure a system, and make decisions under ambiguity
- You have a genuine point of view on what good looks like, and the craft to back it up
- You can move between visual strategy and pixel-level refinement without losing track of either
- You understand that a thumbnail for a US true-crime audience and a brand film for a UK lifestyle label are not the same design problem, and you approach them differently
- You make creative conversations better, not just deliver assets after them
Why Join Us
- Shape visual identities for global creators, entertainment properties, and brands
- Work at the intersection of concept, storytelling, and execution, at real scale, for real audiences
- Be part of a culture that values creative ownership and clear thinking
- Grow into broader creative leadership as the company scales
