Job Description: Freelance Faculty for Logistics and Operations Management – PGDM Program

Position: Freelance Faculty (Part-Time / Hourly Basis)

Location: Mira Road, Thane

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic freelance faculty member to teach Logistics and Operations Management under the PGDM Finance program.

The role involves delivering engaging lectures, mentoring students, and helping them develop a strong understanding of operations, logistics, supply chain management, and their practical applications in business.

Subjects to be Taught

· Logistics and Operations Management

The subject covers:

Ø Operations Management and Logistics Strategy

Ø Process Design, Analysis, Facility Layout and Capacity Planning

Ø Inventory Management, Transportation and Warehousing

Ø Supply Chain Management, Procurement and Vendor Management

Ø Logistics Technology, Indian Supply Chains and E-commerce Fulfilment

Ø Quality Management, Six Sigma and ISO 9001

Ø Operations Planning, Scheduling and Material Requirements Planning

Ø Lean Operations, Industry 4.0 and Sustainable Supply Chains

Key Responsibilities

· Deliver lectures and tutorials as per the prescribed syllabus.

· Develop teaching material, assignments, assessments, question papers and case studies aligned with course objectives.

· Correct answer sheets whenever required.

· Design and evaluate assignments, case studies, presentations and internal assessments.

· Provide academic support and mentoring to students.

· Ensure completion of syllabus within the semester timeline.

· Collaborate with the program team to improve pedagogy and curriculum delivery.

· Explain logistics and operations concepts through practical business examples, industry cases and current supply chain practices.

· Guide students in analysing operations, supply chain, logistics and procurement decisions using relevant frameworks, metrics and business cases.

Qualifications

· MBA/PGDM in Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related discipline.

· Postgraduate degree in Industrial Engineering, Production Engineering, Operations Research, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field will also be considered.

· Preferably Ph.D. / NET / SET qualified (not mandatory for freelance roles).

· Strong understanding of Operations Management, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Inventory Management, Procurement and Quality Management.

· Knowledge of Lean Management, Six Sigma, ERP/WMS/TMS, logistics technology and Industry 4.0 will be an added advantage.

Experience

· Minimum 2–3 years of teaching or industry experience in relevant subjects.

· Experience in academic curriculum delivery at the UG/PG level is preferred.

· Industry experience in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Operations, Procurement, Warehousing, Transportation or related domains will be preferred.

· Exposure to modern teaching tools (LMS, online labs, virtual classrooms) will be an advantage.
