About the Role

The VDI Engineer will play a key role in designing, deploying, and managing modern virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) solutions to support end-user productivity and collaboration across regions.
This position is part of a technology infrastructure team responsible for building and operating foundational platforms that power business applications worldwide. The role requires a blend of technical depth, problem-solving, and end-user orientation in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
What You'll Do
Design & Implementation
- Design, deploy, and manage virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) solutions using Citrix, AVD, VMware, Nutanix AHV, and NetScaler (Citrix ADC).
- Collaborate with technology and business teams to gather requirements and design scalable VDI solutions.
- Implement Microsoft 365 services to enhance virtual desktop environments.
Management & Optimization
- Monitor and maintain performance, availability, and security of virtual desktop environments.
- Optimize resource allocation and manage capacity planning for VDI infrastructure.
- Develop and enforce policies and procedures for efficient VDI operations.
Troubleshooting & Support
- Provide expert-level support and troubleshooting for VDI-related issues.
- Partner with help desk and support teams to resolve user issues promptly.
- Conduct root cause analysis for recurring issues and implement corrective actions.
Security & Compliance
- Configure and manage NetScaler Gateway for secure remote access to Citrix VDI environments.
- Ensure VDI infrastructure complies with corporate security policies and industry standards.
- Implement and manage security measures, including data protection, access controls, and SSL certificates.
- Conduct audits and assessments to ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
Documentation & Training
- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for VDI infrastructure and processes.
- Provide training and guidance to IT staff and end-users on best practices and new features.
- Stay updated with the latest VDI technologies and trends to drive continuous improvement.
What's Required
- Bachelor's degree in Technology, Computer Science, or related discipline.
- 6+ to 14/15 years of hands-on experience designing, deploying, and managing virtual desktop environments.
- Proven expertise with Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops (setup, configuration, optimization).
- Experience integrating Microsoft 365 services with VDI solutions.
- Strong knowledge of Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) deployment and management in cloud environments.
- Hands-on experience with NetScaler (Citrix ADC/Gateway) for remote access, load balancing, and HDX optimization.
- Experience with Nutanix AHV for hyperconverged infrastructure.
- Hands-on experience with Active Directory, GPO, WMI, and SSO.
- Experience with automation engineering for VDI operations.
- Strong problem-solving, collaboration, analytical, and communication skills.
- Strong end-user service orientation with a focus on user experience and satisfaction.
- Ability to lead troubleshooting across firm-wide VDI issues, provide root cause analyses, and propose mitigations.
- Flexibility to work on a broad range of issues, including occasional weekend work/on-call rotation.
