We are excited to add experienced talent to our team. Position: Virtual CIO (Remote – India) The Virtual CIO is responsible for providing strategic technology leadership to a portfolio of Synoptek clients, focusing on enterprise applications and business outcomes. The role translates business priorities into technology roadmaps, investment plans, and service improvements across ERP, custom applications, and hosted business systems. It oversees application reliability, integration, lifecycle planning, and vendor performance, including Microsoft Dynamics NAV environments. As an individual contributor, the Virtual CIO leads cross-functional teams, advises client executives on priorities, cost, risk, and value, and ensures delivery against agreed roadmaps. The position is based in India, works remotely, and supports clients during U.S. business hours.

Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. Equivalent work experience may be accepted in lieu of an undergraduate degree on a 1:1 basis.

Role
Primary Responsibilities
Client Technology Leadership
- Serve as a trusted technology advisor to client executives by connecting business objectives with practical technology decisions.
- Own client technology roadmaps and investment recommendations, including application modernization, lifecycle risks, budgets, and expected business benefits.
- Lead Technology Business Reviews with account teams and report progress, decisions, service health, and measurable business outcomes.
- Lead delivery across application, engineering, security, and service teams by establishing clear ownership, milestones, dependencies, and escalation paths.
- Oversee portfolios of ERP, commercial, and custom-built applications across multiple customer environments, including cloud-hosted, third-party-hosted, SaaS, and on-premises systems.
- Guide the support and improvement of Microsoft Dynamics NAV environments, including customizations, integrations, reporting, vendor dependencies, and upgrade planning, and advise on Dynamics 365 Business Central where relevant.
- Maintain application inventories and dependency maps that cover business owners, hosting arrangements, integrations, data flows, support responsibilities, and lifecycle status.
- Translate business requirements into prioritized application enhancements and coordinate developers, ERP partners, and hosting providers through design, testing, release, and ongoing support.
- Explain technology options, costs, risks, and trade-offs to executives and business users, and maintain clear records of recommendations and decisions.
- Coordinate software vendors and implementation partners, including support renewals and lifecycle planning.
- Partner with operations, delivery, and finance teams on scope changes, order billing alignment, and operational improvements.
