Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled Video Editor to join our YouTube production team. The ideal candidate will be an exceptional storyteller with a strong command of both video editing and high-end motion graphics. In this role, you will transform scripts and raw footage into polished, engaging videosboth long-form and shortsthat enhance viewer retention and elevate the visual identity of our channel. You will work closely with the Senior Video Producer to create content that is impactful, visually compelling, and aligned with our mission.
Key Responsibilities
Long-Form YouTube Editing (Primary)
- Edit 1025 minute videos with strong pacing, narrative flow, and audience retention strategy.
- Use b-rolls, advanced transitions, sound design, and creative storytelling techniques.
- Maintain a consistent brand look, feel, and tone across all video formats.
Shorts / Reels Editing
- Create engaging shorts from long-form content.
- Add kinetic typography, punchy captions, and eye-catching visual elements.
- Ensure every short has a hook, fast pacing, and scroll-stopping design.
High-End Motion Graphics
- Produce motion graphics such as:
- Advanced lower thirds
- Animated infographics
- Title sequences
- Clean character or object animations
- Smooth kinetic typography
- Visual explainers for complex topics
- Ability to integrate motion seamlessly into long-form edits.
- Strong sense of design, layout, timing, and animation principles.
Script & Story Understanding
- Read and interpret scripts to align visuals with narrative flow.
- Suggest visual ideas, animation styles, or storytelling improvements.
- Identify important moments for shorts and highlight cuts.
Technical & Workflow Responsibilities
- Organize raw footage, manage timelines, maintain backups.
- Work efficiently in Adobe Premiere Pro & After Effects with clean project files.
- Perform color correction, sound balancing, and export in 4K/1080p optimized for YouTube.
- Collaborate with producers, writers, and on-screen talent to deliver final outputs on time.
Must Haves And Skills
- Core Editing & Motion Graphics Software (Mandatory)
- Adobe Premiere Pro (expert-level)
- Adobe After Effects (advanced motion graphics & animation)
- Adobe Photoshop (basic design, graphics, thumbnails)
- Adobe Illustrator (vector assets for animation)
- AI Tools & AI-Assisted Editing
- The candidate should be familiar with modern AI workflows that improve editing speed and quality.
- Additional Post-Production Tools
- DaVinci Resolve (preferred for color grading)
- Adobe Audition (audio cleanup, mixing)
- Mister Horse
- Knowledge of tracking, rotoscoping, keying, compositing inside AE.
- Export optimization for YouTube (4K/1080p, codecs, bitrate)
- Understanding of caption formats (SRT/Subtitles)
Qualifications And Educational Background
- Bachelors or Masters in Film Making
- Bachelors or Masters in Video Editing
- Certified Course in Video Editing
