About the Role

True Hope Foundation is looking for a highly creative Video Editor who specializes in emotion-driven storytelling and can craft documentary-style fundraising videos. You will turn raw footage, interviews, and b-roll into compelling narratives with strong hooksvideos that move people and inspire donations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Edit story-based documentary videos for fundraising campaigns (30 sec, 60 sec, 25 min, and long-form).
  • Build powerful narratives using: hook problem emotional journey proof impact clear call-to-action.
  • Select the best interview bytes, create emotional pacing, and maintain audience retention.
  • Create multiple versions of the same video for platforms like Meta (FB/IG), YouTube, Shorts/Reels.
  • Add professional sound design (ambient, foley, transitions), mix dialogue, and enhance voice clarity.
  • Apply cinematic color correction/grading to keep the footage consistent and premium.
  • Create minimal, clean subtitles when needed (platform dependent), plus on-screen text graphics for impact.
  • Use stock footage/music responsibly (copyright-safe) and maintain a clean asset library.
  • Collaborate with fundraising/creative team to align edits with campaign goals and donor psychology.
  • Deliver fast iterations based on feedback and meet strict deadlines during campaign launches.
Required Skills & Qualifications
  • Proven experience editing documentary / story-led / cause-based / emotional content.
  • Strong sense of story structure, pacing, and hooks (you understand what keeps people watching).
  • Advanced editing skills in Adobe Premiere Pro / Final Cut Pro / DaVinci Resolve (any one is fine).
  • Solid understanding of sound design and audio cleanup (dialogue clarity is a must).
  • Ability to work with raw, imperfect field footage and still create a premium output.
  • Strong command of visual rhythm, transitions, and emotional timing.
  • Ability to deliver platform-optimized exports: aspect ratios 9:16, 1:1, 16:9 and correct codecs/settings.
  • Clear communication and ability to handle feedback professionally.
Good to Have (Preferred)
  • Experience editing fundraising ads, NGO films, impact documentaries, or CSR content.
  • Motion graphics skills (After Effects) for simple titles, lower thirds, map/location callouts, impact stats.
  • Understanding of retention metrics: first 2 seconds, watch time, scroll-stopping edits.
  • Familiarity with organizing large project files, proxies, and cloud collaboration workflows.
  • Basic Hindi/English understanding (helpful for selecting best interview bytes).
