We're looking for a Video Editor who understands storytelling, has a strong creative instinct, and knows how to make every cut count.

At Rovenlabs, you'll work across brand films, ad films, music videos, short films, and AI-generated films. We're particularly interested in editors who understand how to build a narrative, create an emotional connection, land a joke through timing, and turn raw footage into a film that makes people feel something.

If your strongest work involves storytelling, humour, or emotionally driven visual narratives, we'd love to see it.

What you'll do

• Edit brand films, funny ads, short films, music videos, and AI-generated films.
• Shape narratives through pacing, shot selection, transitions, and creative editing decisions.
• Use colour grading to establish the right visual tone and maintain consistency across a film.
• Design sound using music, foley, and audio mixing to strengthen the story and viewing experience.
• Work with AI-generated footage and integrate different shots into seamless, cohesive films.
• Take projects from raw footage to a polished final cut while meeting tight deadlines and client expectations.

What we're looking for

• 2–5 years of hands-on video editing experience.
• A portfolio demonstrating funny ads, short films, and/or music videos, with a strong emphasis on storytelling.
• A good understanding of narrative structure, comic timing, emotional pacing, and visual storytelling.
• Strong proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, and/or After Effects.
• Practical colour grading and sound design skills, beyond basic presets and templates.
• The creative judgement to identify what works, what doesn't, and what needs to change in an edit.
• The ability to work across different creative styles while maintaining quality under tight deadlines.
• Curiosity about AI video generation and an interest in exploring new creative workflows.

What to share with your application

1. Three edits in three different styles — preferably funny ads, short films, or music videos. Share individual links rather than a compilation reel.
2. One before-and-after edit — raw footage alongside your final graded and sound-designed version.
3. One project completed in under 24 hours — to demonstrate your speed, decision-making, and ability to deliver under pressure.

We're looking for editors with a point of view, not just software skills.
