We are a fast-growing startup working at the intersection of politics, journalism, research, and digital media. Our work ranges from investigative stories and election research to documentaries, election campaigns, explainers, podcasts, and high-impact social media content.
We're looking for a video editor who understands that editing isn't about adding transitions. It's about shaping narratives, holding attention, and making people care.
What You'll Do
- Edit YouTube videos, documentaries, interviews, podcasts and explainers.
- Create short-form content for Instagram, Facebook, X and YouTube Shorts.
- Transform research and journalism into compelling visual stories.
- Edit election and political campaign content with speed and accuracy.
- Source and integrate archival footage, maps, graphics, news clips and B-roll.
- Add subtitles, motion graphics and sound design where required.
- Collaborate closely with researchers, journalists and designers.
- Deliver fast turnarounds without compromising quality.
What We're Looking For
- Strong command of Adobe Premiere Pro (mandatory).
- Good understanding of After Effects and basic motion graphics.
- Strong storytelling and pacing instincts.
- Excellent sense of music, sound design and rhythm.
- Ability to retain audience attention, especially in the first 30 seconds.
- Familiarity with YouTube retention strategies and social media editing.
- Comfortable working with long-form interviews and documentary-style content.
- Ability to work under tight deadlines.
Must Have
- Fluent Punjabi (Reading, Writing & Speaking)
- Strong understanding of Punjab politics and current affairs.
- Interest in journalism, elections, governance and public policy.
- Ability to work with raw research material and turn it into engaging videos.
- Self-driven, proactive and highly accountable.
Bonus Points
- Experience editing political campaigns or news content.
- Experience with DaVinci Resolve.
- Basic colour grading skills.
- Experience with AI tools for editing and workflow automation.
- Camera operation or cinematography experience.
- Motion graphics and animation.
