Role OverviewPlanPol is looking for a creative and detail-oriented Video Editor with prior experience in political, public policy, or campaign-related content. The ideal candidate should be skilled in crafting impactful visual narratives for digital platforms while understanding the sensitivity, tone, and strategy involved in political communication.
Key Responsibilities- Edit and produce high-quality videos related to political campaigns, public policy, governance, and social issues
- Create engaging short-form and long-form video content for social media platforms (Instagram, YouTube, X, Facebook, etc.)
- Collaborate with content writers, researchers, and strategy teams to translate political narratives into compelling visuals
- Add motion graphics, captions, subtitles, transitions, sound effects, and background scores as required
- Ensure content aligns with PlanPol's communication strategy, political messaging, and brand guidelines
- Stay updated with political trends, news cycles, and digital video formats
- Manage multiple projects while meeting tight deadlines
- Maintain organized project files and version control
Required Skills & Qualifications- 1–2 years of professional experience as a Video Editor
- Prior experience in political campaigns, political consulting firms, media houses, public policy organizations, or advocacy groups
- Proficiency in video editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, Final Cut Pro, or DaVinci Resolve
- Strong understanding of political communication, messaging tone, and audience targeting
- Experience with subtitles, reels, shorts, and political explainer videos
- Good sense of storytelling, pacing, and visual aesthetics
- Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced political environment
Preferred Qualifications- Experience working on election campaigns or issue-based advocacy projects
- Knowledge of Tamil and English political content (spoken or written) is an added advantage
- Basic motion graphics and infographic animation skills
