Role Definition – Video Editor

The Video Editor is responsible for creating high-quality long-form and short-form videos that drive engagement, retention, and brand consistency across digital platforms. The role focuses on performance-driven editing, motion graphics, and storytelling aligned with marketing objectives. This position requires strong ownership, speed, and collaboration with marketing and design teams.

Responsibility Deliverable

The Video Editor will deliver platform-optimized, visually compelling videos that meet defined objectives such as audience retention, clarity of message, and conversion action. Deliverables include high-retention short-form videos, structured long-form content, motion graphics, and polished final exports that follow brand guidelines. The role ensures timely delivery, minimal rework, consistent quality, and effective collaboration through clear versioning, feedback incorporation, and workflow discipline.

Tasks & Activities

Understand video objectives, target audience, platform, format, and desired action.

Collaborate with the marketing team to finalize briefs, scripts, hooks, and references.

Edit short-form videos with strong hooks, fast pacing, captions, motion graphics, and sound sync.

Edit long-form videos ensuring narrative flow, clarity, brand consistency, and proper segmentation.

Create motion graphics using After Effects, including text animations, transitions, and UI highlights.

Perform visual and audio quality checks for framing, color consistency, and audio balance.

Export videos in platform-specific resolutions, formats, and compression settings.

Incorporate feedback efficiently while maintaining proper version control (V1, V2, Final).

Manage files, assets, and backups with organized folder structures.

Continuously improve editing quality by analyzing performance trends and learning new techniques.

Expected Weekly Deliveries

Short-Form Videos: Deliver 8–10 short-form videos per week (Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts, Meta Ads), primarily repurposed from long-form content or campaigns, optimized for retention, hooks, captions, and platform formats.

Long-Form Videos: Deliver 3–5 long-form videos per week (YouTube videos, product demos, case studies, internal or leadership videos), depending on duration, motion complexity, and feedback iterations.

Revisions & Finalization: Timely incorporation of feedback with clear version control (V1, V2, Final) and on-time final exports aligned with campaign priorities and deadlines.
