Role overview
You'll take long-form podcast footage and turn it into high-retention short-form content (Shorts/Reels/LinkedIn), including thumbnails and motion graphics/VFX.
Responsibilities
- Edit 810 short-form videos per week for YouTube Shorts, Instagram Reels, and LinkedIn
- Do basic content research: identify standout moments, hooks, and story arcs from long-form recordings
- Create thumbnails optimized for clicks and clarity
- Add captions/subtitles, b-roll, punch-ins, sound polish, basic color correction
- Execute motion graphics/VFX (lower-thirds, callouts, kinetic text, transitions, simple compositing)
- Use AI tools to speed up captioning, cutdowns, cleanup, and workflow
- Collaborate with the team on a weekly content calendar; iterate quickly on feedback
Requirements
- Solid short-form editing sense: hook, pacing, retention, storytelling
- Proficiency in Premiere Pro / DaVinci Resolve / Final Cut
- Thumbnail design skills (Photoshop/Canva/Figma or similar)
- Motion graphics/VFX proficiency (After Effects / Resolve Fusion / similar)
- Strong communication, reliability, and deadline discipline
Added advantages
- You already have licensed editing tools/assets
- Familiar with AI tools like Descript / CapCut / Opus Clip / Runway / ElevenLabs (or similar)
- Understanding of platform-native formats and trends
Qualifications
- Proficient in Video Production and Video Editing techniques
- Experience in Video Color Grading and Motion Graphics to enhance visual appeal
- Strong skills in creating and incorporating Graphics into video content
- Ability to meet deadlines and maintain high-quality standards
- Creativity, attention to detail, and a passion for storytelling through visuals
- Familiarity with industry-standard video editing and motion graphics software
- Prior experience in video content creation is a plus
- Currently pursuing a degree in Media, Film Production, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
