What We're REALLY Looking For
You don't just edit—you shape the story.
You should be able to:
- Identify and cut low-engagement sections
- Improve pacing and emotional flow
- Use camera angles and visuals to guide viewer attention
- Think from a viewer psychology + retention perspective
Key Responsibilities- Edit long-form YouTube videos (8–12 min) with strong narrative flow and in future scope into podcast style video with multicamera format.
- Structure content to maximize audience retention (especially first 30 seconds)
- Add purposeful B-roll that enhances understanding—not distracts
- Use motion graphics, text overlays, and visual cues to simplify complex topics
- Apply clean, professional color grading and audio balancing
- Incorporate pattern interrupts (zoom cuts, pacing changes, transitions) to maintain engagement
- Collaborate on story flow and content improvement, not just execution
- Align editing style with YouTube growth strategy (CTR, retention, watch time)
- Leverage AI-driven tools for efficient editing, including smart cuts, subtitles, and workflow optimization
Requirements
Minimum 4+ years of hands-on experience in video editing
Proficiency in tools such as DaVinci Resolve, Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects
Education in Film/ TV editing, broadcast and journalism.
Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.)
Strong understanding of motion, transitions, and storytelling techniques
Ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines
Knowledge of color grading and sound editing
Awareness and practical use of AI-powered tools in modern video editing workflows
