Role Description

As a Sr. Video Editor, you'll own the edit for Decibel's short-format content across brands, reels, shorts, and other social-first video. This is a reel-forward role: pace, hooks, and platform-native storytelling matter more than polish for polish's sake.

Relevant Details

• Work Time: Monday - Friday, 10 AM to 7 PM

• Type: Hybrid (3 times a week from office, plus deadline-driven days as required)

• Location: Nehru Place, New Delhi

• Personal laptop required, capable of running Premiere Pro/After Effects

• Salary: ₹25,000 – ₹45,000 per month (based on experience)

• Work Experience: 0-5 years (strong freelance/reel-editing portfolios welcome)

• Preferred Joining: Immediate

Key Responsibilities

• Edit fast-turnaround reels and short-format video across brands, handling multiple concurrent edits without dropping quality

• Structure edits around hooks, pacing, and retention, built for how people actually watch reels, not repurposed long-form cuts

• Handle sound design, trending audio placement, transitions, and basic motion graphics/text animation

• Turn raw footage into a finished, brand-consistent, platform-ready asset with minimal back-and-forth

• Stay ahead of format, sound, and edit-style trends and adapt them to client briefs

• Apply brand guidelines while knowing when to push the visual language forward

• Manage files, versions, and exports across a fast-moving multi-brand delivery pipeline

• Work closely with creative, strategy, and client teams, incorporating feedback on deadline

Qualifications

• 0-5 years as a video editor, or an equivalent freelance/reel-editing portfolio

• Proficient in Premiere Pro and/or After Effects; comfortable with AI-assisted editing tools

• Strong sense of pacing, sound design, and short-format storytelling

• Personal laptop capable of running heavy editing software

An editing reel that shows sharp cuts, strong pacing, and platform-native instincts, not just a resume. Someone who thinks in hooks and retention, edits fast, and understands social trends well enough to turn ideas into effective brand content.
