Job Description

About Asai

Asai is India's first 100% non-toxic cookware brand built on science and transparency.

We test every batch of our cookware with independent labs for hidden toxins, heavy metals, and microplastics, and we share the reports publicly.

Not because it sounds good in marketing. Because it's the right thing to do.

We're a young, venture-backed D2C brand, backed by a notable VC, building something meaningful in Indian kitchens, cookware that is safe, beautiful, and honest.

If you care about what touches food, and how brands communicate responsibility, you'll understand what we're trying to build.

About the Founders

Asai was founded by Prerna Kapoor and Abhineet Sonkar.

Prerna leads brand and communication, deeply involved in content, storytelling, and category education.

Abhineet leads product and operations, focused on engineering, testing, and process rigour.

You won't be working through layers. You'll work closely with the founders.

Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role based in Gurgaon for a Video Editor focused on Content and Brand. The Video Editor will be responsible for creating compelling video content to enhance Asai's brand image and storytelling.

You won't be joining a big company editing team.

You'll join early.Very early.

This is the founding content team. Which means:

  • Your edits will shape the internet-facing identity of Asai
  • You'll work directly with founders
  • You'll influence scripts, hooks, storytelling, and creative direction
  • You'll help define what premium, science-led D2C content in India can look like
  • You'll grow ridiculously fast because we move ridiculously fast

If you're someone who wants:

  • ownership,
  • creative freedom,
  • fast learning,
  • high responsibility,
  • and a chance to build instead of just execute…

you'll probably enjoy this.

What you'll actually work on

Not boring corporate edits. Promise.

You'll edit:

  • Founder-led reels
  • Performance ads
  • Product storytelling videos
  • Food content
  • Educational/science-led content
  • Social-first campaigns
  • Trend-based reactive content
  • Internet experiments we probably come up with at 11:47 PM

A lot of our content sits at the intersection of: smart + entertaining + premium + trustworthy

What we care about

You understand:

  • why a hook works
  • why someone drops off
  • how pacing changes watch time
  • how editing affects trust
  • why good ads don't feel like ads

You should be comfortable:

  • tightening scripts while editing
  • making multiple performance variations
  • experimenting constantly
  • giving creative inputs, not just taking instructions

Qualifications

  • Proficient in Video Production and Video Editing
  • Experience in Video Color Grading to ensure visual storytelling consistency
  • Skilled in Motion Graphics to create engaging animated content
  • Expertise in creating professional Graphics for video design
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks
  • Strong understanding of brand-focused visual storytelling
  • Proficiency with video editing and design software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, and Photoshop
  • Bachelor's degree in Media Production, Graphic Design, or a related field is preferred but not mandatory
  • Prior experience in food-related or consumer product industries is a plus
