Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role for a Senior Video Editor at Brand Abstract. You will own end-to-end post-production for luxury hospitality, lifestyle, fashion, and real-estate brandscutting high-impact reels, brand films, campaign edits, and motion assets at speed. The ideal candidate is tool-savvy, AI-enabled, fast, and brand-right, with impeccable taste and the ability to translate strategy into scroll-stopping visuals.
Key Responsibilities
- Edit short-form and long-form videos (reels, ads, brand films, interviews, UGC, case studies) with fast turnarounds.
- Build narrative flow: select cuts, pacing, rhythm, transitions, SFX, sound design, color, motion typography.
- Create platform-native outputs for Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, and Meta Ads (ratios, hooks, subtitles, thumbnails).
- Use AI tools to accelerate workflows: rough cuts, transcript-based edits, VO cloning, upscaling, denoise, rotoscoping, background removal, asset generation.
- Collaborate with strategy, social, design, and production to translate briefs into on-brand edits.
- Maintain a clean asset pipeline (naming, proxies, versioning, backups) and deliver exports in required specs/codecs.
- Build and maintain preset packs (LUTs, audio, motion templates) for repeatable quality.
- When needed, support on-set with shot planning, references, and continuity.
Tooling (You should be hands-on with most)
- Editing: Adobe Premiere Pro / Final Cut Pro / DaVinci Resolve
- Motion & GFX: After Effects (essential), Motion, basic Cinema4D/Blender a plus
- Audio: Audition / Fairlight; music licensing workflows
- Color: DaVinci Resolve (preferred) / Lumetri; LUT management
- Subtitles/Transcripts: Auto-captions (Premiere/Resolve), CapCut Pro, Descript
- AI & Gen-AI: Runway, Pika, CapCut AI, Descript, Topaz, Stable Video/AnimateDiff/Kling (nice to have), Midjourney/Stable Diffusion for plates
- Collab & Storage: Frame.io, Google Drive, Dropbox, Trello/Asana/ClickUp
Must-Haves
- 36+ years agency/post house experience editing for luxury/lifestyle/fashion/hospitality.
- A portfolio that shows taste, timing, typography, and brand feel.
- Speed with quality: ability to turn around daily edits without sacrificing finesse.
- Strong understanding of hooks, first 3-seconds impact, and social storytelling.
- Comfort with sound design, color correction/grade, and motion text.
- Proven use of AI to speed up workflows (object removal, background gen, re-timing, voice cleanup, auto-versioning).
- Excellent communication, feedback handling, and teamwork.
Nice-to-Have
- Basic 3D (Blender/C4D), Spline, or Unreal for simple product/space shots.
- On-set exposure: shot lists, camera basics, codecs, proxies.
KPIs (What success looks like)
- Speed: On-time delivery 95% across weekly sprints.
- Quality: Internal QA pass rate 95% (brand voice, grammar in supers, color/audio).
- Impact: Content performance lift (retention %, completion rates, CTR on video ads).
- Efficiency: Rework on approved briefs 3%; AI/preset utilization to reduce edit time.
- Organization: 100% compliance with file naming, versioning, and handoff checklists.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's in Film/Media/Communications or equivalent experience.
- Certifications (Adobe/Blackmagic/Meta Creative Strategy) are a plus.
- Prior social-first portfolio is essential (share links).
