Role Description

The Video Editing Intern role is a remote, unpaid internship focused on supporting Encore Ascend's video content and digital outreach efforts. The intern will be responsible for editing raw video and audio footage into polished, publish-ready content for use across the organization's social media and educational platforms. Responsibilities may include trimming and assembling footage, syncing and cleaning up audio, adding captions, transitions, background music, and basic graphics, and ensuring a consistent look and feel across videos.

The intern will be expected to deliver one completed video per week, working approximately 1 hour per day, 5 days a week. The role is designed to provide practical, hands-on exposure to video production and editing workflows in a real organizational setting.

Upon successful completion of the internship, interns will receive a Certificate of Internship. Conditional Letters of Recommendation may also be provided based on the intern's performance, contribution, and overall conduct during the internship.

Qualifications

- Working knowledge of video and audio editing.

- Familiarity with video editing software.

- Basic understanding of audio cleanup and syncing.

- Interest in content creation, video production, education, or digital media.

- Willingness to learn and contribute creative ideas.

- Ability to work independently and deliver assigned videos on schedule.

- Basic comfort with file sharing and cloud storage tools (e.g., Google Drive).

- Creativity and attention to detail are an advantage.

- Students and recent graduates from any academic stream are welcome to apply.

- Prior professional video editing experience is not required.
