SkillCat is a fast-growing, US-based edtech platform - an online trade school for the skilled trades: HVAC, electrical, plumbing, facilities maintenance, and more. We've trained over 300,000 students all over the world and we're just getting started.

We're building the future of online technical education, and we're looking for creative science storytellers who can explain real-world concepts in a clear, simple, engaging way. We look for the very best talent - all over the world - who care about helping people build great careers and lives.

Salary Range: 50,000 - 200,000 / month

What you'll do:

  • Write short, engaging video scripts that explain technical concepts simply
  • Transform complex topics into visual, intuitive, ohhh THAT makes sense explanations
  • Collaborate with SMEs to ensure accuracy & clarity
  • Create storyboards and visual ideas for learning videos
  • Use examples, metaphors, and humor where appropriate
  • Think from the learner's perspective - keep them hooked
  • Help define voice, tone, and pacing of SkillCat lessons

You might be a great fit if you:

  • Have worked in Vedantu / Byju's / Unacademy / PW / JoshTalks / CrashCourse style roles
  • Have written or acted in educational or explainer videos
  • Think in scripts, scenes, visuals, and narrative
  • Are curious about how things work - physics, devices, machines, everyday tech
  • Love simplifying content and making it understandable
  • Can write with a natural, friendly, conversational tone

Not necessary (but a bonus!):

  • Experience in video creation or hosting
  • Experience with animated explainers
  • Experience in STEM or science communication
  • Personal YouTube or Instagram creator experience
  • Experience creating content for beginner-level audiences

Not required at all:

  • Experience with SCORM/Storyline
  • Corporate L&D background
  • Academic instructional design certifications

(These backgrounds tend to be too formal/static -we're after creators.)
