Job Description

Job Title: Vice Principal
Board: CBSE
Location: Harvest International School Kodathi Sarjapur
Reports To: Principal / School Management
Job Summary:
The Vice Principal supports the Principal in the overall administration, academic leadership, and
smooth functioning of the school as per CBSE norms and guidelines. The role involves overseeing
academics, discipline, operations, staff management, and ensuring high standards of teaching-
learning processes and student development.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Academic Leadership
Assist in planning and implementing the CBSE curriculum and academic calendar.
Monitor lesson planning, syllabus completion, and assessment practices.
Supervise Heads of Departments (HODs) and teaching staff.
Ensure quality teaching standards and innovative methodologies.
Analyze student performance and implement improvement strategies.
Oversee board exam preparation and result analysis.
2. Administration & Operations
Support the Principal in daily school administration.
Ensure compliance with CBSE affiliation by-laws and statutory requirements.
Supervise timetables, substitutions, and workload allocation.
Monitor attendance of students and staff.
Oversee school events, assemblies, and extracurricular activities.
3. Discipline & Student Management
Maintain discipline and positive school culture.
Address student behavioral concerns.
Guide counselors and discipline committees.
Ensure student safety and well-being policies are implemented.

4. Staff Supervision & Development
Conduct classroom observations and provide feedback.

Support recruitment, induction, and mentoring of teachers.
Identify training needs and organize professional development programs.
Conduct performance appraisals in coordination with the Principal.
5. Parent & Community Engagement
Participate in Parent-Teacher Meetings (PTMs).
Address parent concerns in coordination with the Principal.
Promote positive school-community relationships.
6. Compliance & Documentation
Maintain academic and administrative records.
Prepare reports for CBSE inspections and audits.
Ensure implementation of NEP guidelines (where applicable).
Support school accreditation and quality assurance processes.
7. Strategic Support
Assist in school development planning and goal setting.
Contribute to policy formulation and school improvement initiatives.
Act as Principal in their absence.
Qualifications & Experience:
Master's Degree in any discipline with B.Ed. (Mandatory).
Minimum 812 years of teaching experience in a CBSE school.
At least 35 years in a leadership role (HOD / Academic Coordinator preferred).
Strong knowledge of CBSE curriculum, examination system, and affiliation norms.
