Job Description
- PURPOSE
To provide strategic and operational leadership across MSP Steel & Power Limited's integrated steel manufacturing operations, encompassing Pellet Plant, Sponge Iron (DRI), Steel Melting Shop (SMS), Rolling Mills, Captive Power Plant (CPP), and Utilities. The role is responsible for driving operational excellence, cost competitiveness, safety, quality, productivity, sustainability, digital transformation, and organizational capability while creating a strong leadership pipeline for future business growth and COO succession.
2. PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
· Lead end-to-end operations across Pellet Plant, DRI, SMS, Rolling Mills, CPP, and Utilities to achieve operational excellence, business continuity, and sustainable growth.
· Deliver production, productivity, quality, yield, and capacity utilization targets through effective planning, execution, and process optimization.
· Drive Operational Excellence through Lean Manufacturing, TPM, Six Sigma, Kaizen, and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, reliability, and throughput.
· Optimize manufacturing costs, including raw materials, energy, maintenance, and conversion costs, to improve profitability and EBITDA.
· Ensure compliance with Safety, Health, Environment, and Sustainability (SHES) standards, statutory regulations, and industry best practices while promoting a zero-harm culture.
· Lead Industry 4.0, automation, digital transformation, and data-driven manufacturing initiatives to improve operational performance and decision-making.
· Manage Greenfield and Brownfield expansion projects, ensuring timely execution, budget adherence, and targeted returns on investment.
· Collaborate with Commercial, Finance, Procurement, Supply Chain, and HR functions to align operational priorities with business objectives.
· Build high-performing teams through leadership development, succession planning, capability building, and employee engagement initiatives.
· Drive business performance through strong techno-commercial acumen, financial discipline, stakeholder management, and strategic decision-making.
3. SKILLS s KNOWLEDGE
Educational Qualifications &Certifications
- B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical, Metallurgical Engineering plus MBA/PGDM in Operations
Relevant Experience
- 18–25 years in integrated steel manufacturing with large-scale operations leadership experience.
