Job Description

We are seeking a highly experienced and dedicated Vice President, Private Equity Fund Accounting to oversee the core accounting functions for our private equity fund clients. This senior leadership role involves managing a team, acting as a primary client contact, and ensuring the accuracy of all financial and reporting activities. The ideal candidate is a motivated and diligent professional with deep expertise in asset management accounting and a proven ability to lead and build strong client relationships.

Key Responsibilities

  • Fund Accounting & Reporting:
  • Maintain books and records and oversee the calculation of fund Net Asset Values (NAVs).
  • Coordinate and review financial statements, associated reports, and performance metrics for monthly and quarterly reporting.
  • Coordinate and review complex calculations for carried interest/performance fees and investor allocations for capital calls, distributions, and equalizations.
  • Team & Client Management:
  • Supervise junior staff, reviewing and signing off on all work performed.
  • Act as the primary day-to-day contact for clients and other fund participants.
  • Work closely with the Investor Relations team to respond to investor queries and disseminate notices.
  • Maintain relationships with investors, investment advisors/managers, banks, auditors, and other fund participants.
  • Assist with presentations to existing and prospective clients.
  • Compliance & Special Projects:
  • Monitor compliance with various client agreements, including the Service Level Agreement (SLA).
  • Participate in projects related to the expansion and evolution of the business.
  • Handle any other functions required by the business and report to the Senior Vice President.
  • Troubleshoot accounting and client issues.

About You

  • Experience: Extensive experience in accounting for the financial services sector, with a focus on Private Equity, Asset Management, or Fund Administration.
  • Knowledge:
  • Proven experience reviewing and preparing general ledgers and financial statements.
  • Established knowledge of consolidations under IFRS.
  • User experience with enterprise accounting systems.
  • Skills:
  • Excellent communication skills in both written and spoken English.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Strong judgment, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
  • Attributes:
