Inviting applications for the role of Vice President - Principal, Advisory R&D Lead

The Advisory R&D Lead is responsible for shaping, governing, and scaling Genpact's Advisory R&D Team. This role integrates industry insight, domain knowledge, and technology innovation to design differentiated offerings across Finance, Risk, and Supply Chain pods (as aligned with the R&D pod structure and offeringownership model).
You will drive the strategic R&D agenda, prioritize investments, lead cross-functional teams, and ensure all offerings are future-ready, commercially viable, and GTM-enabled

Responsibilities

1. Offering Strategy, Development & Lifecycle Management

  • Define the end-to-end R&D strategy, including vision, policies, governance model, team structure, and execution roadmap.

  • Lead creation and enhancement of Advisory offerings, ensuring alignment with business goals and industry relevance.

  • Evaluate what offerings to incubate, scale, pivot, or sunset, backed by market intel and performance outcomes.

  • Ensure offerings integrate seamlessly into the broader Genpact solutions ecosystem and meet GTM readiness standards.

2. Market, Technology & Competitive Intelligence

  • Conduct deep research on industry shifts, regulatory changes, competitor actions, and emerging technologies (AI, IoT, blockchain, agentic systems, etc.) - echoing R&D objectives outlined in internal R&D frameworks.

  • Translate insights into actionable roadmaps, ensuring offerings anticipate client needs and market disruptions.

3. Technology Evaluation & POC Leadership

  • Lead the assessment of new technologies for feasibility, scalability, and business impact.

  • Oversee POCs and pilots, validating ideas and accelerating realization of insights - a key R&D execution priority noted across internal R&D plans

  • Own technology integration decisions in partnership with DTAI, product teams, and platform groups.

4. Portfolio Prioritization & Investment Management

  • Prioritize R&D initiatives across Finance, Risk, and Supply Chain pods, balancing budget vs. net-new growth requirements (supported by R&D budget allocation models).

  • Ensure investments drive measurable business outcomes and maximize ROI.

  • Track performance, value realization, and longterm scalability of offerings.

5. Cross-Functional Leadership & Governance

  • Lead and mentor the R&D team-Offering Leads, Analysts, and external consultants-ensuring high performance and capability building.

  • Partner with Advisory LT, , Finance, Growth Ops, and Industry teams to drive alignment and execution.

  • Set targets for the team, monitor progress, and ensure delivery excellence.

6. GTM Integration & Enablement

  • Work with GTM teams to ensure offerings are client-ready, priced appropriately, and supported by strong PoVs, case studies, and value articulation.

  • Enable seamless field adoption with playbooks, training, and cross-functional communication.

Qualifications we seek in you!

Minimum Qualifications

  • Proven consulting background with experience in solution design, client advisory, or innovation leadership.

  • Strong fluency at the intersection of industry trends, domain expertise, and technology innovation.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead multi-pod or multi-domain R&D portfolios.

  • Prior experience managing POCs, pilots, frameworks, and offering incubation.

  • Strong program governance, prioritization, and budget management skills.

  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication capabilities.

Preferred Qualifications/ Skills

  • Experience of working in a global organization.

  • Experience in Advisory R&D strategy or as a advisory consultant

  • Strong experience in innovation, consulting, product development, or technology strategy.

  • Demonstrated ability to drive research-led solution design.

  • Deep understanding of emerging technologies and industry trends.

  • Excellent stakeholder management and strategic thinking capabilities.
