As our VP/Head of Engineering / CTO, you will serve as the strategic visionary and operational powerhouse driving our core platform. This is a pivotal executive role within a high-growth portfolio company, where success is measured by platform availability, transaction velocity, and the seamless delivery of delightful consumer experiences to millions of active users.
You will directly lead our engineering organization, architecting scalable web and mobile infrastructure, optimizing high-throughput data systems, and pioneering AI-accelerated workflows. This role demands a blend of business-centric leadership, stellar people management for cross-functional teams, and deep technical credibility in modern consumer internet architectures.
Key Responsibilities
- Technology Vision & B2C Strategy: Formulate and execute a modern technical strategy that directly powers consumer acquisition, user engagement, and retention. Align the engineering roadmap seamlessly with product and commercial goals.
- Scale & Reliability: Own the performance, security, and uptime of high-traffic web and native mobile (iOS/Android) applications. Architect systems to effortlessly handle seasonal traffic spikes and massive data growth.
- Engineering Excellence & Delivery: Establish rigorous, agile engineering processes. Define standards for continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD), testing guardrails, and code hygiene to ensure rapid, predictable shipping cycles.
- AI & Workflow Innovation: Lead the transition toward an AI-accelerated development ecosystem. Evolve developer workflows using modern automation and AI coding agents to optimize team velocity and quality.
- Culture & Talent Architecture: Attract, retain, and mentor a world-class team of engineers and engineering managers. Foster a high-performance culture rooted in autonomy, technical curiosity, and an absolute obsession with the end-user experience.
Desired Skills & Experience
Executive Leadership
- 12+ years of software engineering experience, with 5+ years in a senior executive capacity (CTO, VP,Director or Head of Engineering) within a high-growth B2C internet, e-commerce, hyper-local, or consumer fintech platform.
- Proven track record of scaling an engineering organization from early stages up to 50+ engineers across multiple product pods.
- A product-first mindset: an engineering leader who looks at data infrastructure, page latency, and system boundaries through the lens of customer conversion and user drop-off rates.
Technical & Architectural Pedigree
- Consumer Scale: Deep experience building and operating distributed, highly resilient architectures supporting millions of users.
- Modern Tech Ecosystems: Fluent across modern web/mobile stacks, microservices architecture, payment gateways, digital marketing tech, and personalization engines.
- Big Data & AI/ML: Strong baseline in scaling big data pipelines, real-time event streaming , and integrating machine learning/recommendation algorithms into consumer facing workflows.
- Education: BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
