Role Title: Vice President - Engineering
Location: Bangalore - Hybrid
Role Overview:
Our client is seeking a dynamic and visionary Vice President Engineering to lead and scale engineering efforts across all product lines. The role will report into Chief Product Officer. As VP of Engineering, role holder will own technology execution, people leadership, product delivery, and engineering excellence for BU Engineering. Will be instrumental in ensuring our engineering culture remains high-performing, collaborative, and future-focused, while aligning with business objectives and evolving customer needs. Will work closely with BU heads, BU engineers, Platform engineering counterparts.
Key responsibilities:
- Own delivery excellence across product engineering, ensuring predictable outcomes, productivity, and effective resource utilization.
- Lead architecture discussions and design debates, providing clear technical direction and decision-making.
- Bring strong customer-facing experience, working closely with stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into scalable solutions.
- Lead and support initiatives at org level.
- Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including executives, business partners.
Requirements:
- 18+ years of experience in enterprise software development in fintech or BFSI domains
- Background in software architecture, with hands-on expertise in designing complex systems before moving into leadership.
- Experience working across both startup environments and mature, scaled systems, enabling adaptability to different operating contexts.
- Proven exposure to both greenfield (from-scratch) and brownfield (existing system enhancement) development initiatives.
- Demonstrated experience in managing enterprise customers, participating in solutioning, escalations, and delivery alignment.
- Proven ability to lead engineering organizations at scale (100+ engineers), preferably in B2B SaaS or product companies. Ability to challenge the teams with data including Product, CST, Dev teams, etc.
- Demonstrated leadership capabilities, including strong listening skills and an empathetic approach to people management.
