About the Role

We are looking for a commercially sharp, operationally fluent leader to build and own the Executive Search vertical at Peepal Consulting. This is a genuine P&L role — not a mandate manager, not a solo hunter — but someone who can originate business, deliver exceptional searches, and scale this practice into a high-margin, brand-defining line of revenue.

01. Business Acquisition

• Own the full BD cycle from lead generation to mandate closure for the Executive Search vertical.

• Build and work a high-quality client pipeline independently; this is a hands-on role, not just team oversight.

• Identify, pitch, and convert new-to-firm clients while growing wallet share with existing accounts.

• Hire, coach, and drive a BD team as the vertical scales; set the standard for pipeline discipline and conversion rigor.

• Represent Peepal at CXO forums, industry events, and peer networks to sharpen our positioning in executive hiring.

02. Business Servicing

• Deep working knowledge of executive search methodology mapping, assessment, and reference checks at the CXO/Director level.

• Personally lead mandates at the most senior levels; quality of delivery is non-negotiable and cannot be delegated away.

• Build structured candidate pipelines across functions and sectors to reduce mandate turnaround time.

• Act as the primary relationship owner for key accounts, with proactive client communication at every search stage.

• Uphold Peepal's standards for discretion, accuracy, and speed - the three non-negotiables in executive hiring.

03. Building the Vertical

• Own the P&L - set revenue targets, manage cost, and drive profitability for this vertical from Day 1.

• Define the go-to-market positioning for Peepal's Executive Search offering: target sectors, geographies, and fee architecture.

• Build playbooks, processes, and tooling that make the vertical scalable - not principal-dependent.

• Provide monthly reporting on pipeline health, mandate conversion, revenue forecast, and team productivity.

• Partner with the Founder's Office on long-term strategy, vertical investments, and growth planning.

What We're Looking For :

  • 10–18 years in executive search or CXO-level hiring, with a clear track record of origination — not just delivery.
  • Strong commercial instincts: comfortable owning a revenue number, reading a P&L, and managing cost.
  • Prior experience building or leading a small team; a player-coach who doesn't step back from the BD floor.
  • A warm network at CHRO, CFO, and CEO level that translates into mandates — not just conversations.
  • Executive-level gravitas: communication, presence, and judgment to operate comfortably at the C-suite.
  • Bias for action, structured thinking, and the discipline to run parallel mandates without dropping standards.

You Will Be Measured On

  • Revenue & P&L Quarterly targets met; vertical turns profitable within agreed timeline.
  • Mandate Conversion Pitch-to-mandate hit rate and mandate-to-placement conversion ratio.
  • Client Retention Repeat business rate and relationship quality with key accounts.
