We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join the International Wealth and Premier Banking team in an exciting new role.

Job Introduction

Vice President- Business Development, Strategic Channels role lies within the Distribution network of International Wealth & Premier Banking. The role holder will assume business development responsibilities in the assigned region and will drive acquisition of New To Bank Premier/ Executive Banking Customers (HSBC's affluent customer propositions) and any other IWPB products & solutions as assigned from time to time. This is an individual contributor role involving identifying, engaging with and maintaining ongoing relationship with external entities and persons, who will refer potential new customers to the Bank. With significant focus on new Premier customer growth & consequent revenue growth, the role holder will be an ambassador for HSBC in the assigned region. The incumbent will also be responsible for delivering exceptional new customer on-boarding experience, lifecycle value management of on-boarded clients, referral partners management, driving micro and macro campaigns and events , internal & external stakeholder management and trainings for partners and internal staff.

Principle Responsibilities: -

  • Drive New To Bank Premier/ Executive Banking Customer Acquisition and other IWPB products by generating referrals from external entities and persons.
  • Ensure exceptional on-boarding experience for new customers through seamless handover to Relationship Management/ Account Management team (incase of RM managed propositions)
  • Identify and onboard new sources (entities, persons, partnerships) of customer referrals and engage with them on an ongoing basis as per the Bank's process and guidelines.
  • Support the governance and administration of the referral efforts by setting up required MIS, Process Notes, Sales quality process, Billing (if required).
  • Conceptualise and execute micro and macro events and campaigns to engage potential new customers , referral partners and internal teams.
  • Provide all required support including training, information, and process to Referral Partners to encourage them to refer new customers.
  • Meet Operating Plan numbers for qualified New To Bank customers across Propositions and Products as assigned.
  • Incase of formal contract based referral partnerships, empanelling Partners as per governance process, contract management and ongoing governance management of Partnerships as per relevant process requirements.
  • Understand and know in detail HSBC IWPB products and propositions, in order to be an ambassador for HSBC in the external market.
  • Manage the lead flow funnel from referral initiation till conversion and contribute to lifecycle revenue delivery.
  • Manage Third Party engagements effectively to ensure all risk activities (including on-boarding, monitoring and exit) are undertaken accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Understand the importance of Third-Party Risk, and your role in ensuring all risk activities (including ongoing monitoring and KPIs / KRIs) are undertaken accurately and in a timely manner with any deficiencies escalated as appropriate.
  • Manage and drive the collective performance of the channel through coaching internal staff and providing improvement feedback to Referral Partners.
  • Provide market feedback on Product, proposition and process to Internal stakeholders for improvement and enhancements.
  • Maintain HSBC internal control standards, including the timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators
  • Share all examples of best practise to drive overall customer experience
  • Deliver fair outcomes for our customers and ensure own conduct maintains the orderly and transparent operation in financial markets.
  • Lead and grow the IWPB NewToBank Premier / Executive Banking acquisition, and other products like Mortgages and premium Credit Cards in line with India Strategic Plan / AOP.
  • Ensure a consistently high level of product and service delivery in line with customer needs across the region.
  • Contribute to enhancing the banks image and visibility in the market place.
  • Maintain strong engagement with key stakeholders and support functions to deliver the expected outcomes seamlessly.
  • Adherence to processes and controls to identify and mitigate risks and ensures timely escalation of control

issues and reputation risks.

  • Demonstrates leadership on regulatory and compliance matters. Maintains awareness of risk and minimizes the likelihood of it occurring through its identification, assessment, mitigation and control.
  • Fosters a compliance culture within the team through identification, assessment mitigation and control of risks, trainings.

Education Qualifications / Certifications and Requirements:-

Post Graduation With Additional Qualifications Would Be Preferable.

Minimum of 12-15 years of Sales/ Business Development experience, preferably in Premium Banking & Wealth Management industry

Knowledge/Experience

Proven sales & distribution ability preferably in financial services industry

Understanding & knowledge of Financial services & Wealth management market in India

Proven adherence to controls and compliance with no significant breaches

Experience in Identifying potential new Third Party Partnerships and managing them for growth

Skills

Excellent interpersonal skills, with a particular emphasis upon inspiring, influencing stakeholders and negotiating.

Managing external stakeholders, and engaging with senior management of Third Parties on both Business Growth and Control/ Governance issues.
