Job Description

NEVE JEWELS GROUP

VP Accounts & Finance

ROLE OVERVIEW

The VP Accounts & Finance is one of the senior-most finance leaders in the Neve Jewels Group and a direct report to the CFO. The role owns the largest pillar in the restructured finance function — combining full controllership accountability with the leadership of Global Shared Services for AR and AP.

This is a deliberately broad mandate. The pillar consolidates two closely-related capabilities: the integrity of the group's books and statutory reporting (controllership) and the process excellence engine that supports it (shared services).

The VP Accounts & Finance is expected to build a world-class, audit-ready, board-grade accounting function and a scalable shared-service platform — the platform on which the group will grow into its next stage.

SCOPE OF THE PILLAR

The VP Accounts & Finance leads a global team across six geographies (UK, EU, ANZ, India, Canada and the Middle East), organised into two sub-pillars:

  • Regional Controllership — regional finance teams, responsible for local books, statutory compliance, and audit delivery
  • Global Shared Services — leading centralised AR and AP operations across all entities and geographies, with dedicated Leads for Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Controllership & Governance

  • Own the integrity of group books and the production of statutory financial statements across all entities in the UK, EU, ANZ, India, Canada and the Middle East
  • Lead the group consolidation process — monthly, quarterly and year-end — and drive continuous reduction in close-cycle time
  • Design, embed and continuously improve the internal control framework — SOPs, control matrices, segregation of duties, approval thresholds
  • Own the relationship with statutory and internal auditors across all jurisdictions; lead audit planning, fieldwork coordination and resolution of findings
  • Ensure regulatory compliance across all jurisdictions — Companies House, FCA, RBI, MCA, banking and other applicable regulators
  • Drive standardisation of accounting policies and chart of accounts across all entities

Global Shared Services Leadership

  • Own the outcomes of the Global Shared Services function — AR and AP delivered to service-level agreements across every region and brand
  • Set the strategic direction for the shared-service platform — process taxonomy, automation roadmap, scaling model, geographic coverage
  • Support the Head of GSS in leading the migration of AR and AP from regional teams into the shared-service unit, without disruption to BAU
  • Own the AR and AP performance metrics — DSO, DPO, first-time-right rates, query resolution times, ageing — and drive continuous improvement

Cross-Functional & Strategic

  • Partner closely with the Global Tax and with the Treasury team.
  • Partner with the Head of FP&A + Business Partnering to ensure book-based numbers reconcile to management reporting
  • Develop, mentor and retain the senior leadership layer.
  • Lead financial due diligence readiness for the upcoming fund raise — produce audit-ready financial information packs and coordinate diligence responses

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

  • 8-10 years of progressive finance experience, with at least 3 years in controllership leadership role
  • Demonstrated experience leading both a controllership function and a shared-service or finance operations function — either concurrently or across their career
  • Multi-jurisdiction controllership experience
  • Demonstrated experience leading financial due diligence — for fundraise, M&A or IPO readiness — is a strong preference
  • Experience standing up, scaling or restructuring a global shared-service operation for AR and AP
  • Qualified accountant — CA, ACCA, CPA or equivalent
  • Exposure to D2C, retail, e-commerce, consumer or luxury brands is preferred; jewellery experience is a plus but not required

TECHNICAL SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE

  • Deep working knowledge of consolidation tools, ERP platforms and finance reporting systems
  • Strong command of IFRS and at least one major local GAAP; comfort moving between accounting standards
  • Experience designing and operating internal control frameworks at group level;
  • Familiarity with statutory and regulatory regimes across the UK, EU, India and ideally ANZ
  • Hands-on familiarity with AR and AP process automation tools and RPA approaches
  • Knowledge of finance data platforms and BI tooling — comfortable partnering with the Finance Transformation function on ERP roadmap and dashboarding
  • Must have experience working on integrated ERP like SAP, NetSuite or Microsoft Dynamics 365 .

PROFILE & STYLE

The right person is a builder as much as a steward. They will inherit a controllership function that is functional but not yet institutional-grade, and a shared-service platform that is still being designed. Comfort with ambiguity, appetite for scale-up work, and the credibility to bring senior regional leaders along with a significant change agenda are essential.

This is a role that participates in the shaping of the finance agenda — not one that only executes it.
