Qualifications
- Strong expertise in VFX & 3D lighting and rendering for animation and VFX, including experience with industry-standard tools (e.g., Maya, Houdini, Arnold, V-Ray, RenderMan, or similar).
- Solid understanding of look development, shading, and texturing, and how they interact with lighting to achieve photorealistic or stylized results.
- Proficiency with compositing workflows (e.g., Nuke or similar) and an understanding of how rendered passes integrate in post-production.
- Demonstrated ability to interpret concept art, storyboards, and reference to create cinematic lighting that supports storytelling and mood.
- Experience mentoring artists, providing clear feedback, and maintaining quality standards across multiple shots or sequences.
- Good understanding of rendering optimization, scene management, and basic scripting or tool usage to streamline workflows.
- Strong visual sense of color, composition, and light, with a well-developed artistic eye for detail and continuity.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced production environment, manage time effectively, and respond constructively to feedback.
- Previous studio experience on feature films, high-end TV, or high-quality animated projects; experience with AR/VR or real-time engines (e.g., Unreal) is an advantage.
- Relevant degree or diploma in Animation, VFX, Computer Graphics, or a related field
