Position Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Telecom Automation Engineer with strong experience in iBwave design, DAS (Distributed Antenna Systems), and hands-on capability to develop and automate workflows on the ECSite platform.
The ideal candidate will combine telecom design expertise with modern automation skills to accelerate design-to-deployment cycles-from 30 minutes down to 15 minutes-through scripting, UI automation, monitoring, and rapid proof-of-concept (POC) development.
Key Responsibilities
- DAS Workflow Development & Optimization :
- Design, enhance, and automate DAS workflows within the ECSite platform.
- Integrate iBwave design processes with ECSite tools to streamline end-to-end project execution.
- Identify inefficiencies in current workflows and develop automated solutions to remove manual steps.
- Python Scripting & UI Automation :
- Develop robust Python scripts to support telecom design, validation, and deployment tasks.
- Build Selenium-based UI automation to accelerate frequently performed platform activities.
- Ensure scripts are modular, reusable, version-controlled, and maintainable.
- System Monitoring & Quality Assurance :
- Implement monitoring dashboards to track workflow performance, automation success rates, and design consistency.
- Create automated test cases to ensure reliability and accuracy of ECSite workflows.
- Analyze system logs and outputs to proactively identify issues and implement corrections.
- Gap Identification & Continuous Improvement :
- Conduct gap analysis across current DAS design-to-deployment processes.
- Recommend enhancements based on data-driven insights and operational pain points.
- Collaborate with telecom engineers, product teams, and field deployment teams to drive process improvements.
- Rapid Prototyping & POC Development :
- Build quick, functional POCs to validate new ideas, tools, or workflows.
- Showcase new automation modules for stakeholder review and approval.
- Iterate rapidly based on feedback to deliver production-ready features.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Telecom Expertise
- 3-7 years of experience in Telecom / RF Engineering.
- Strong understanding of DAS design principles, RF fundamentals, and site deployment processes.
- Solid experience with iBwave Design tools and best practices.
Technical Skills
- Proficiency in Python for scripting and process automation.
- Strong experience with Selenium (WebDriver, automation architecture, test frameworks).
- Familiarity with telecom deployment platforms (e.g., ECSite or similar).
- Good knowledge of API integrations, JSON/XML workflows, and automation frameworks.
Analytical & Operational Skills
- Ability to map end-to-end telecom workflows and identify optimization opportunities.
- Strong troubleshooting skills across RF design, platform workflows, and automation layers.
- Experience with dashboards, monitoring tools, or log analysis (Grafana, Kibana, etc. is a plus).
Soft Skills
- Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration.
- Ability to work in agile, fast-paced environments.
- Strong ownership mindset and willingness to solve complex problems with minimal Qualifications :
- Experience with cloud-based platforms (AWS, Azure) for automation and monitoring.
- Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, Git, and DevOps principles.
- Exposure to field deployment workflows for indoor/outdoor DAS projects.
- Familiarity with mobile network KPIs and telecom standards.
Performance Goals (First 6 Months)
- Automate key DAS workflows to reduce design-to-deployment cycle from 30 minutes to 15 minutes.
- Build a minimum of 3-5 automation modules integrating Python + Selenium + ECSite.
- Implement monitoring dashboards for performance, usage, and error tracking.
- Deliver 2-3 quick POCs demonstrating new automation or workflow improvement ideas.
- Achieve measurable improvements in workflow accuracy, speed, and reliability.
