Qualifications
- 2 to 4 years of experience managing Veeam environments
- Experience working in an MSP or multi-client environment (strongly preferred)
- Proven experience in backup architecture and disaster recovery planning
- Veeam certification such as VMCE (preferred)
- Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills
Core Expertise
- Expert-level proficiency in VeeamBackup & Replication
- Strong experience with VeeamCloudConnect, SOBR, and immutability using Linux hardened repositories
- Proven knowledge of Veeam Backup for Microsoft365
Infrastructure Knowledge
- Strong experience with VMwarevSphere
- Working knowledge of Hyper-V (nice to have)
- Solid understanding of storage systems including SAN, NAS, and S3-compatibleobjectstorage
- Strong knowledge of networking fundamentals including VPN, firewalls, and segmentation
Cloud Platforms
- Experience with at least one cloud platform such as Microsoft Azure, AWS, or ThinkOn
Operating Systems
- Advanced experience with Windows Server
- Working knowledge of Linux for hardened repositories

- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders

Key Responsibilities
Architecture & Design
- Design and implement Veeam-based backup and recovery solutions
- Define backup strategies including RPO, RTO, retention, and immutability
- Support hybrid and cloud-based backup architectures across on-prem and cloud environments
- Align solutions with client compliance and business continuity requirements
Operations & Support
- Manage and monitor daily backup operations across multiple client environments
- Troubleshoot backup failures, performance issues, and restore processes
- Perform and validate backup restores including file-level, VM-level, and full disaster recovery scenarios
- Ensure SLA adherence for backup success rates and recovery timelines
Optimization & Governance
- Optimize storage usage, retention policies, and backup performance
- Implement best practices including immutability, air-gapped backups, and ransomware protection
- Maintain documentation and standard operating procedures
- Participate in capacity planning and cost optimization initiatives
Client & Internal Collaboration
- Act as technical escalation point for backup-related issues
- Support pre-sales activities including solution validation, sizing, and architecture input
- Collaborate with Infrastructure, Cloud, and Service Desk teams
- Contribute to client QBRs involving backup strategy and risk discussions
Continuous Improvement
- Stay updated with Veeam features, updates, and industry best practices
- Identify opportunities to standardize and productize backup services
- Contribute to internal Backup-as-a-Service offerings
Key Success Metrics (KPIs)
- Achieve backup success rate of 98-99% or higher
- Meet recovery time objectives and ensure RTO compliance
- Maintain efficient incident resolution time (MTTR)
- Reduce backup failures and recurring issues
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of documentation
