The Vision Behind This Role
For too long, a false dichotomy has been imposed between ancient wisdom and modern science. Vandanam is committed to dissolving it. The Vedic Scientist and Sociologist occupies the most integrative and transformative role within our Research Cell: bridging the profound technical knowledge of the Vedic corpus in physics, consciousness, medicine, architecture, metallurgy, and social design with the methodologies and languages of contemporary science and sociology.
If you hold a rare combination of rigorous scientific training and deep Vedic knowledge, this role was designed for you. Your work will not simply be theoretical it will form the foundation for practical applications that could reshape fields from urban planning to healthcare, from social governance to materials science.
What You Will Do
• Translate ancient Vedic technical knowledge (Vastu, Ayurveda, Artha Shastra, Vedic mathematics) into frameworks applicable to modern project design
• Conduct and supervise interdisciplinary research connecting Vedic principles of consciousness (Chitta, Prana) to modern neuroscience, quantum physics, and systems biology
• Develop scientific hypotheses derived from Vedic texts and design research protocols to test them
• Analyze the sociological implications of Vedic civilization models for contemporary social reform and governance design
• Collaborate with the Philologist and Acharya to ensure technical interpretations are textually and philosophically sound
• Produce research papers and technical briefs bridging Vedic and contemporary knowledge systems
• Advise on the practical application of Vedic science to the cell's live projects and initiatives
Who We Are Looking For
Education: PhD in Physics, Chemistry, Life Sciences, Engineering, Sociology, or a related field AND formal Vedic training (Veda Acharya title or equivalent)
Dual Expertise: Demonstrable fluency in both modern scientific methodology and classical Vedic scholarship not merely familiarity with one or the other
Research Focus: Deep understanding of at least one of: Vastu Vidya, Ayurveda, Vedic mathematics, Vedic astronomy, or consciousness studies
Preferred Affiliation: SRIVT (Guntur/Hyderabad), Maharishi Vedic Research Institute, or comparable institution
Mindset: Genuinely integrative neither dismissive of tradition nor uncritical of pseudoscience
