Job Description

We are seeking a skilled VMware Horizon VDI Engineer to design, deploy, and manage virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) and published application delivery solutions. The role involves supporting Horizon View environments, performing automation, troubleshooting, and ensuring optimal performance and availability of virtual desktops and applications.

Key Responsibilities:

VDI Deployment & Management

  • Deploy and manage virtual desktop and published application delivery using VMware Horizon View.
  • Manage Active Directory, Windows Server 2016/2019, and Windows 10 environments for VDI solutions.
  • Configure and maintain VMware technologies including vSphere, vSAN, NSX, and F5.
  • Administer Horizon Cloud environments and Windows Desktop Management tools.

Networking & Protocols

  • Ensure understanding and management of TCP/IP protocols and services: PCoIP, Blast, RDP, ICMP, UDP, TCP, SMTP, SNMP, LDAP, DNS, NTP, and related networking protocols.

Automation & Scripting

  • Automate deployments and system processes using PowerShell scripting.
  • Work with operating systems management products like Intune and VMware.

Incident Management & Troubleshooting

  • Use ITSM tools (ServiceNow) to manage incidents, problems, requests, and changes.
  • Troubleshoot performance, connectivity, and user experience issues.
  • Provide rapid integration and support for new customers and environments.

Collaboration & Problem-Solving

  • Work as part of a diverse team, exercising sound judgment and creative problem-solving.
  • Handle multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining high standards of integrity, dependability, and urgency.

Required Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong experience with VMware Horizon View (VDI) deployment and administration.
  • Hands-on knowledge of vSphere, vSAN, NSX, and F5.
  • Experience managing Active Directory, Windows Server (2016/2019), and Windows 10.
  • Proficiency in automation and scripting using PowerShell.
  • Understanding of IT networking protocols (TCP/IP, RDP, Blast, PCoIP, LDAP, DNS, etc.).
  • Familiarity with ITSM tools (ServiceNow) and incident/problem/change management.
