Y-Point is a DeepTech-focused venture capital fund sponsored by SINE, IIT Bombay. We invest in transformative startups emerging from India's top research institutions-such as IITs, IISc, and IIITs-across sectors including:

Our focus is on early-stage investments from pre-seed to pre-Series A, supporting founders through the critical TRL 4-7 phase (Valley of Death) with capital, strategic guidance, and ecosystem access. Currently, we are in the process of getting registered with SEBI.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Sourcing & Research:
- Proactively identify DeepTech startups and founders across India's academic and research ecosystem
- Build and maintain relationships with technology incubators, accelerators, and bankers.
- Conduct market landscaping, sector mapping, and pipeline development.
- Track trends in science-based innovation and breakthrough technologies.
Due Diligence:
- Evaluate technology readiness, business models, IP, and founder-market fit.
- Support technical and commercial due diligence in collaboration with domain experts.
- Prepare investment memos and present findings to the investment committee.
Portfolio Support:
- Work with founders to track milestones, financials, and fundraising readiness.
- Assist in building post-investment value creation plans.
- Coordinate with incubators, labs, and academic networks for technical support.
Fund Operations:
- Support investment documentation and compliance
- Maintain internal databases (deal flow, portfolio, LP reporting inputs)
- Assist in preparing presentations for LPs, partners, and ecosystem engagements
Who Should Apply:
We're looking for curious, mission-driven individuals with a mix of technical depth and financial capability, ideally with:
- A degree in science, engineering, finance, economics, or business; candidates with dual exposure (e.g., engineering + MBA/finance) are strongly preferred.
- Strong analytical, research, and communication skills.
- Understanding of finance, financial modeling, and valuation skills.
- Experience or interest in DeepTech sectors, including understanding TRL stages and commercial viability of research.
- Prior exposure to VC, private equity, investment banking, or startup ecosystems (preferable but not mandatory)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- A proactive, resourceful mindset and comfort working in unstructured, early-stage environments
